I am rarely impressed by delivery in general, but I was blown away with A Salt & Battery. Quality at its best with quick delivery...Great job!

Absolutely amazing food. My two expat coworkers and I (American born) ordered the Haddock and chips along with some Curry Sauce. It was just absolutely perfect! The food arrived steaming hot, and the fish had this awesome fresh flaky texture. The chips were cooked to perfection, and served as a perfect vessel for salt, malt vinegar, and curry sauce. Don't think twice about ordering from here, the food is just out of this world delicious. Make sure the first time you pick up a bottle of the Malt Vinegar, it's much better than the Heinz packets.

This is a good value for Fish and Chips in this area, since not many places price it around $10. I will say a couple things I think would make it MUCH better... bigger/extra portions of tartar sauce (definitely if it's $1 for extra), crispier fish (or have a "crispy" option so ppl can still order the original should they wish), and salt the fries straight out of the oil. In all fairness, I always did delivery, so the fish batter might have gotten less crispy in delivery (because of the steam in the container). And I want to be clear, the overall flavor is very good. The overall portion is very good. And I have ordered here several times being overall satisfied with both the food and the service. In fact, one of the reasons I do only delivery is because the place is usually packed (which I assume is a good sign). I originally was intrigued because they beat Bobby Flay on Throwdown. It didn't live up to the hype I had hoped for when I think of "the best", but don't get me wrong, still a decent place to go for fish and chips. And should any of the staff at this venue be reading this, I hope this post doesn't rub you the wrong way. I'm simply trying to offer an honest view from an actual customer to help make an already-good establishment much better. -Lee

You ARE in London, or Liverpool, or anywhere in old Blighty, with the food from this British joint. Order anything from here, then sit down and eat it watching Hard Days Night or any early 60s British film. You'll be back in civilization, mate.

I was a little worried about reviews saying the food doesn't do well with delivery, but I ordered a haddock sandwich and onion rings to W30th St, and it arrived perfectly. Punctual, not soggy, still hot and crispy and with everything I had asked for. The fish was delicious and served on very good quality bread (former deli worker here, I know my rolls). The onion rings were nothing to write home about, but overall good.

Restaurant refused to cancel my order despite my calling them _immediately_ after placing it. Seems pretty unreasonable to me.

Not great for takeout. By the time the food arrived, the fries were soft and mushy. The fish, howevere was pretty good. Next time I'll wait until I have time to go eat at the store myself.

Allow for at least 90 minutes for delivery even if you live close to the restaurant. And then make sure you are drunk so that the congealed cold fried food seems like a good idea. Will never order from this joke of a restaurant again.

I just ordered the pollock sandwich with the onion rings and if it weren't from the fact I don't wanna get fatter I would order another right now. Both were extremely good and yes they gave me all the condiments one would need and delivery was fast and friendly.

The fish was delicious and so was the tarter sauce! Not as crispy but that should be expected when you are getting delivery. Will definitely order again!

I'm sure the food is great at the restaurant, but fish & chips just doesn't work with takeout. By the time the food arrives, it is soggy and unappetizing. Great homemade tartar sauce! Won't order again, will just make the trip.
