Agora Turkish Restaurant

Absolutely LOVE Agora! My boyfriend and I make a point to order from Agora at least once a week! Can't imagine not having them in the neighborhood, the food is always perfect! :)

Giving 5 for the Manti (Ravioloi) : was delicious! The rice that came with the Chicken SHish Kebab is also sooo good! Next time when I order though I will ask for some tomato sauce. Turkish food just begs for it ! Overall very pleased.

The food is fine, but I'm giving this restaurant two stars because I waited so long. The estimate was 20 - 35 minutes, and it took an hour and 20 minutes for me to get my food.

The food was average. Also we had to wait 1 hour and 40 minutes for the food. I would encourage people to consider other Turkish/Middle Easter options on the UES.

There is an old Turkish saying that a cook who can make good pilaf will be good at cooking everything else. Unfortunately Agora may be the exception to this rule, because their rice was the only good (aka "edible") among the several dishes I sampled today. The rest was highly unpalatable as follows: Zucchini pancakes: tasted more like dough than zucchinis. They were greasy absent any kind of real feta cheese flavor. Stuffed vine leaves: DRY. Not acceptable, period. Adana Kebab: The rice was OK and so were the vegetables. But the meat was of very low quality (with chewy pieces of cartilage) and the yogurt was sour. To sum it all up, they need a new cook who can manage the pilaf as well as the rest of the Turkish cuisine.

Very delicious, on time and quality of chicken adana kebabs are delicious! We usually get a ton of bread too - yummy sesame squares. order from this place at least once a month
