Ali Baba's Babaganoush is fair, a bit oily. Their grape leaves are all right, also a bit oily. But their Shish Sandwich is a complete failure--it is NOT wrapped in pita but in something like a Subway roll (!), the lamb is overcooked and dry, and the whole thing unappetizing. Far better food at Antalia--but they don't deliver, alas, to east of Madison Sq Park. I won't be ordering from Ali Baba's again. (One star because it is, after all, edible.)

I wish I could give more than 5 stars to Ali Baba. Anyone who will deliver piping hot Pide 20 blocks away deserves 10 stars. This is also the only place I have been able to find pide in Manhattan. I wish I had discovered Ali Baba from the day I moved to New York!!!

Ali Baba used to be the best Turkish in town. Now I taste that they have lost that lead.

The best restaurant in my neighborhood. I live on 34th btw 2nd and 3rd and I keep going to Ali Baba, although the street is full of good restaurants. Their food simply has taste and it's fresh, not taken from cans! I reccomend especially Babaganush, Shepperd salad w/ Shrimp and when you are really really hungy - try Huncar Begendi.

Great Turkish food. Have tried many other Turkish / middle eastern restaurants and Ali Baba is one of the best in my book. I highly recommend the Mixed Appetizer if you like dips, and the Yugurtlu Tavuk.

Ali Baba is consistently delicious. We order from here nearly every other week. I suggest the hummus (clearly), the falafels (my husband is obsessed with it), all of the kebabs, and the homemade manti, which is truly amazing - it's almost like a gnocchi stuffed with mean instead of potatoes! Great place! I recommend dining in, as well. Oh, and the baklava, is incredibly crisp and just the right dose of sweetness.

food is generally pretty good and generous portions, but sometimes below expectations, particularly the quality of meat. Depending upon time of day of one's order, food may be exceptionally fresh and delicious or may taste somewhat stale, particularly the donner kabob and other kabobs.

I ordered from this restaurant because it was featured in Seamless' Restaurant Delivery Week email. The ETA was 25-40 minutes but was not delivered until an hour and ½ after ordering and was missing one of the 2 meals! When we called to inquire the woman on the phone was very rude! How do you feature such a restaurant??? Never ordering from here again!

ordered the chicken lunch special: got 4 large chunks of chicken, a salad, and appetizer (i picked shepherd salad). chicken was okay, but sadly the spicy pepper was not spicy. shepherd salad good. they brought a humongous pie-sized piece of bread. maybe it was by accident?? it was soft, though i prefer soft on the inside and super crunchy on the outside. $15 minimum means you can't just order the lunch special, you need an extra $1.82. What a pain, I could have ordered soda but I dont drink soda (sugar) and they dont offer seltzer. So I got the lentil soup. It was tasty but watered down. It wasn't a bad lunch, and it's nice to have a lunhc special that gives you a platter instead of a wrap, but I probably wont order again. There is another turkish place I like that is a slight bit more expensive but you get a lot more food and it tastes good and they have great service.
