Amaze Restaurant

I wish I'd actually read the reviews before placing my order - don't go by a five star rating, make sure you browse the comments first! First, the order took about an hour and 45 minutes to be delivered. I suppose this could be understandable based on the high rating and high probability that a popular place like this is going to be busy at lunch, especially on a windy, rainy day as today was. Though, perhaps they should up their delivery estimate times because waiting an hour and 45 minutes when our delivery estimate was 15-30 minutes is kind of setting an unrealistic expectation. Once the food arrived my co-worker and I were excited to 1. FINALLY eat, and 2. try the General Tso's which seems to be a top pick among regular customers. I ate it quickly and eagerly because I was starving, but noticed that there was something odd about the consistency and even with several of the bites I could barely get my teeth through the chicken because it was so tough and overcooked. I bit into a piece of broccoli and I swear I tasted mold. The miso soup may have been passable if it had been hot. I did not go near the rice, but my co-worker says her brown rice was hard and cold. Normally I would give a place another shot. But I won't order from Amaze again. I'm not really quite sure where they get off calling themselves that.

Estimated time of delivery was 15-30 minutes. We received our food 1 hour after we placed our order. Also, the order was wrong. Amaze gave us white rice instead of brown and miso soup instead hot and sour soup. The food was cold by the time we received them.

Amaze let me down in a couple of ways: 1) the food took nearly double the quoted delivery time to arrive, and there was no communication from the restaurant to let me know they were running behind; 2) The green curry was watery and randomly contained soggy fried tofu chunks alongside the chicken I thought I was getting. Although the soup-like broth was probably healthier for me than a typical creamy curry, it wasn't what I was expecting and the meal disappointed.

I ordered an avocado eel roll, miso soup and papaya salad. The avocado eel roll had too much eel sauce on it. It was extremely salty. The papaya salad had too much dressing and the portion was very small. On the other hand, the miso soup was watered down. I don't think I would order from this restaurant again.

I am giving one star b/c they actually have real wontons, not the doughy kind. Otherwise deliver took 1+ hr when it should've taken 15-30min. When I called to check, they had obviously forgotten about my order. It was the worst Mongolian beef I've ever had. All Asian restaurants always had the most tender beef. Not his place. Lack in flavor and just bad recipe. Sushi special roll was ok, but too small. All special rolls, especially when you're paying extra, should be extra large; enough for a small meal. Will definitely not order again.

I'm so excited about this new restaurant. I live around the corner and was psyched to try the food. First, We tried the pad thai with chicken, and while it isnt quite the best pad thai I've ever had, it's the best that I've found in the area, the portion (dinner size) was very large with lots of chicken, and it was delicious and we ate it all. For $10, we decided we'd definitely get it again. Next, we got a 3 roll maki combo meal. WOW this is an excellent deal. It came with a salad that was not only excellent but was huge compared to the salads that come with meals at other Japanese restaurants. Our rolls (eel/avocado, tuna/avocado, spicy crunchy salmon) were all fresh and excellent. Again, all of this was just $10. We will definitely be ordering this special again! Not only was it an excellent dinner, but it only cost us $20+tax!!! We picked up our order and were greeted by friendly, smiling workers. The inside of the restaurant is beautiful and it looks like they have a full bar. Not only will we for sure order from Amaze again, but we undoubtedly will be back to eat in the restaurant sometime in the near future. An excellent addition to the neighborhood!

They're fairly priced, the food is always good and hot and the best part is : it comes FAST. I ordered many times from them and they never disappointed me!

Decent taste and it arrived very quickly. However, everything is tepid at best and the soup is almost cold. Ordered brown rice and got white. Will try again another time to see if this was just a fluke.

I wouldn't know if the food is good - I've never received it! Although it states that it would deliver in 15-20 minutes - I've ordered at 11:56am and at noon, I still haven't received my order - and that's after checking on the status of my order at 12:35 and being told it's on the way... RIDICULOUS! Will never order again from this place!

General Tso's sauce was good but the chicken was not crispy at all. The won-ton soup was delicious, wish there had been more than two dumplings. Overall it was just ok, but the delivery was very quick!
