Amber

ordered Amber's Sushi entrée. fish was oily and smelly (a/k/a not fresh). The whole meal was major disappointment. Delivery was timely. Several pieces in sushi selection were inedible. Cross this one off the list!

Amber has definitely declined over the last year. I used to order the mango shrimp and it was fresh. Now it is full of old shrimp.

not good - ordered yesterday and tossed everything. they no longer use rock shrimp and the taste is soggy and bland. the amber ribs which i used to love are now tough and the flavor is different. and the fish is not fresh anymore. believe this must be a case of new management because the menu is the same - but the quality is NOT. won't be ordering again.

I used to enjoy Amber. The last two times the sushi was just not fresh. We got Salomon roll and the Solomon looked brown. I am disappointed. I liked their sushi.

1 out of 10 orders are sub par but the other 9 are very good. Delivery is slow but I suspect it's because they are the only decent sushi in the 60's and 70's hence, lots of orders. I will consistently order from Amber without fail.

Sushi was sqeezed into a way too small package and therfore not really appetizing. Sushi smelled also a little fishy. Thai basil dish wasn't that great either. I won't order from Amber again.

Fresh and delicious sushi - I have never been disappointed. Highly recommend Amber, especially the seating in the back room.

We've had Amber a few times since (we order out a lot and I have an allergy to gluten) and the quality has decreased. This is such a shame! They have also taken dishes off the menu (including one of out favorites). These dishes are, however, on the menu for the 3rd Ave Amber. The only thing that makes sense to us it that the head chef has changed, maybe moved to the East Side. Such a shame! We won't be ordering here any longer. A Few Months Ago: I don't know what happened- my bf and I had a meal here that was absolutely delicious and I was elated because there aren't many good sushi places on the UWS. But the takeout I received tonight was not good! The crunchy spicy tuna roll was not crunchy or spicy. The soft shell crab had gone bad. It's too late tonight to get ahold of them or I would ask for my money back.

My first time ordering from Amber: A Value combo. I was very satisfied with it...I got the Filet Mignon Lettuce Wrap for an appetizer which to my surprise, was a generous portion and tasted good! For My main dish, I choose the the Upper West Side Roll ,it was delicious & fresh, came with 8 pieces. It also came with a beverage included. Delivery didn't take that long, about 30 minutes....

The rolls were a rip off. Instead of getting the spicy tuna roll I decided to pay $1.25 extra to get the kamikaze roll which had the crunchy flakes and tobiko on the outside (which I love). When I got my food there was literally hardly any tobiko on there! I'm not exaggerating when I say hardly... it was very disappointing as I hoped if I'm paying extra I would get something decent. The rolls were small... I wish I stuck to my usual Japanese takeout. Kouzan is WAY better and for the price so much better than here. Will never order from Amber again let alone eat at their establishment.

I love Amber. Delivery is always a bit slow (but I'm not very close, so I"m surprised they even deliver to me!), but I'm always glad I placed the order and forget about the waiting once I start eating, because everything seems fresh and is delicious. The special rolls are a bit expensive, but include a small salad which is actually pretty good (with a spicy ginger type dressing). I am glad to have found out that Amber delivers to me!

best sushi for takeout (between this an tenzan and I'm not taking our from Gari...) Amber is VERY consistent but ordering here on regular basis is a bit too pricey - they can use some $ deals as their rolls seem just a bit more than most places 99% of the time our go-to sushi in the area

As with any sushi restaurant, the fish will always be fresher if you eat at the restaurant. That being said, if I want sushi delivered, I will order from Amber. The yellowtail jalapeno roll is delicious, as is the ocean roll, depending on your taste.
