Amber (West Village)

So I got food from this place based on 5 star reviews. However, it was so bad I just had to write a review. I am not such a picky eater, and I order from seamless at least 4 times a week due to the fact that I never have time to cook. The food came fast and hot (for the cooked items). The rolls were just so so... Not fresh ingredients at all. Tangerine chicken was super chewy. Had to mix the not so fresh ginger with it to get it to taste decent. Pan fried Dumplings outer case tasted and looked like styrofoam. Duck spring roll was so bad I just threw it away. It looked like cardboard on outer shell. Sorry Amber.... But you just don't cut it. On a whole, would never order from here again. Had a rotten day, and now a rotten dinner.

Very consistent, good food (esp. cucumber roll where it replaces the rice), fresh and super quick delivery. I'm very pleased and Amber has become our repeat-order Japanese place.

I've ordered a few times now, and Amber has fast delivery and very fresh fish -- the portions on the sushi and sashimi are very generous for the price, as well. Rolls are packed full and delicious. Additionally, this time I didn't notice that the wrong address was on the pull down list for delivery and had to call to correct it. They were very polite and the food still arrived before the estimate!

THE West Village sushi place. Once I discovered Amber, I stopped looking. Always great quality. Always fast. The salmon mango roll is SO tasty.

We have ordered from Amber about seven times now, and they consistently deliver on time, fresh, beautifully, (non-greasy and flavorful) prepared food. We love Amber and love the clean feel of their food. Elegantly presented too. Highly recommended/

It had been pretty good months ago. The last two times I have ordered the Sushi has been tasteless and the appetizers were either overcooked or unpleasant. shame really.

There were only three shrimp in the shrimp mango. It was also full of onions. To make matters worse, it came an hour late.

just ok--chicken pad thai, seeweed salad and spicy cruncy tuna roll. and the sweet potato in the sweet potato roll was hard and undercooked. a bit dissapointed :(
