i had high hopes after reading a review that amma had the best chicken tikka masala (butter chicken) in the city, but unfortunately, the food didn't meet expectations. the sauce had no perceptible spice, although i asked for medium spice level. the quality of the chicken and sauce was just average.

I've ordered from Amma multiple times and have learned to not trust the delivery times (almsot always 10mins after the time). However today, my delivery took TWO HOURS (vs the 60mins quoted). Never again.

VERY slow delivery. This is the second time that it has taken over 90 minutes to deliver my order when the delivery estimate says 30-45 minutes. When I called this time they said that my food would be delivered within 10 minutes...20 minutes later...I'm still waiting. This after they were totally unapologetic for the delay. The food is good, but I don't think that I will order from Amma again.

I am always happy with Amma food! Dum Aloo lunch special is my fave. Lunch specials are great value for $, enough for me for two meals. Other items though are expensive considering what you get (2 pieces of rasmalai for $6?!? 3 veg samosas for $6). Also order early because usually 1 hour for deliver or pick-up!

i have been ordering food from amma's for the last few weeks on a consistent basis and i am very impressed with the delivery time and the quality of the food. The entrees are perfect with the right balance of spices. The food is tasty and nongreasy. Have tried a multitude of restaurants for delivery and this place is by far one of the best.

The vegetarian dishes are very good as are most of the non-vegetarian ones and the breads. I found the Vindaloo, Laal Maas and Chicken Kolhapuri to be suspiciously similar and not authentic though still good. Delivery is generally timely.

Although I must admit the food is outstanding, the delivery service is horrible. I have dealt with it in the past because the food is amazing. But as of right now, I have officially been waiting for an hour and 20 minutes. I just called them to ask where the food is and they said it will leave the kitchen in 5 minutes! Which means I will probably be waiting almost 2 hours. The delivery estimate is 45-60 minutes. The food is amazing, but it's just cruel to have someone waiting for 2 hours.

I am a big fan of their Vegetarian Lunch Box special. I get that the prices here are high, but the lunch box specials are a really good deal. Their Bagharen Baingan (Stuffed Eggplant) is ridiculously good and honestly I've never had a bad vegetarian dish here. I also like that I can pick my spice level, and that when they say hot it's hot and when they say medium it's medium. Regarding the delivery - okay, it's not great, but my own experience hasn't been as horrible as others have stated.

If you are in a hurry, avoid this place like the plague! Habitually late. For instance, most recent occassion, Upon calling 90 minutes after order I was told that delivery guy was on his way and yet until 20 minutes later, no delivery. On calling back, I was told delivery any minute now. Yet 10 minutes later, no delivery. Have waited for almost 2 hours now for an order of biryani.

I have dreams of the butter chicken. YUMMMMMM. DELISH. I wish I could order sides and sides of the sauce I'd pour it over everything!

Ridiculously high prices for the amount of food you get. I paid $22 + tax + a $3 tip for Chicken Vindaloo + a small Mango Lassi. Both tasted fine, if unremarkable. Food quality is not the issue. The issue is quantity vs price. The Mango Lassi was mostly ice cubes. For $5 dollars. And the Chicken Vindaloo consisted of 4 or 5 TINY pieces of chicken in sauce and a small container of white rice. And nothing else. For $17 dollars. Apparently they forgot to include any kind of bread that most Indian places ship with all meals, because they DID include the usual 3 sauces. But nothing to use them on. Even if they had remember the bread however, it still would've been a ripoff. Oh, and the delivery took almost twice as long as they said.
