Ancora Restaurant

Says 25-40 minutes, it's been an hour and a half and I'm still waiting!!! I called the restaurant - 1st time I was "disconnected", 2nd time the girl told me the guy left a few minutes ago (that was over 20 min ago and I live 5 min away). Oh yea the food just arrived - it's decent and cold, NEVER ordering from this place again!!

I love Ancora. Not only is the staff so amazing if you actually visit in person, but the food is delicious. This is a real Italian place.. it is completely authentic and they have been in business for a long time. I used to work next door to Ancora and would visit often, now - I order from home..! The always include some bread and a chunk of fresh Parmesan cheese and/or some other delicious treat like fried zuchinni along with the meal. This is such a perk. They are great, food comes in a reasonable amount of time. Will continue to order from Ancora.

The very best chicken parmesan I have ever had. The size is unreal, two whole meals in one, but even better is how the chicken almost melts like a well cooked steak. Excellent. The chocolate mousse was equally exceptional. This is the first restaurant good enough to compel me to spend time with a review. Bravo. Bravo...

Ancora is the best food you can get in the Financial District, hands down. Everything you order is always great, the portions are so big you eat for days and the delivery is faster than anything around. I order from here so often it is shameful!

This is by far the best Italian restaurant downtown. Nothing beats it. For a little more money than the pizza parlors here you get fabulous food. And there's so much you have leftovers which makes it the biggest bargain in this area.

This place needs to learn that it is NOT acceptable to give an "estimated delivery time" of 25-40 minutes, but have it take 75 minutes + a phone call to actually deliver the order. On top of that, some of the food was COLD! I would have given 1 star, but they gave me a free dish because of the wait, so at least they attempted to make up for their lack of professional service.

Mozarella caprese starter was excellent. entrees were good but was a bit disappointed they didnt come with anything, we assumed pasta or vegetables would come with them as there was no option to choose side orders. we ordered an italian cheesecake and an american cheesecake. the american cheeseake was $2 more expensive but the two were identical and the taste unremarkable.

Delicious!! Can't wait to order again and again. Only criticism I would make is that the description of some of the menu items can be misleading. "Fresh Mozzarella, Tomato, and Basil" was more like Parmigianna ... two very very different things.

Amazing Veal Cutlet Parm! 1 order easily feeds 2 people with leftover. The Panzanella salad and Penne ala Vodka is great too. Prompt delivery

This place is awful! I ordered the chicken parm and it was disgusting. It was a giant tin of oily fried meat toped with a terrible ketchup-like sauce and processed mozzerella cheese. My wife ordred the penne alla vodka and was equally disgusted.

NOTHING was available - they had to SUBSTITUTE for the entree and dessert (my entire order). And the dessert was a preservatives-laced concoction right out of the freezer at Waldbaum's. NEVER AGAIN.
