Astor Bake Shop

This place is heinous. I'll never order from here again. I ordered eggs benedict. The portion sizes are minuscule with high prices. However, that's a saving grace considering it was disgusting. Everything was either burned to a crisp or soggy/underdone. I wish I would have read the negative reviews first. I suggest running away now.

This place is a nightmare. The service is terrible. The guy behind the counter is always rude to me. He snaps at me, doesn't ask me what I want, and says mean things under his breath. Getting delivery is somehow just as bad. I live two blocks away, but food (the two times I ordered) took an hour and a half. It was ice cold both times. I called and asked for a refund, and got hung up on. The food is good, but it's not worth it. I've given them about five chances because I like the food and its convenient, but the staff or service is just borderline psychopathic. Beware.

I tried ordering from here a couple times thinking maybe the first disappoint was a fluke. Nope! My order took forever to arrive, food was lukewarm and either flavorless (Mac and cheese) or tasted spoiled (Croque Monsieur), or was generally limp and gross (chicken sandwich). I gave it two stars because the French onion soup was palatable.

Pretty much everything on the menu is delicious and made with care. My only complaint is that my order has had missing items (more than once) and portions are small.

We ordered take out and tried: -Astor Burger: good, tasty - Garlic fries: good, but covered in chopped garlic which I didn't want to eat - Red velvet cake: icing was delicious, cake was a little dry and crumbly -Brownie: Ok, tasted like a lot of dark chocolate ***Went back for sit down & was much better!

One of the best meals I've ever ordered on seamless. Tasted fresh, and original. I had the macaroni and cheese, and the slow roasted chicken sandwich. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Astor bake shop is the best thing to happen to this part of astoria basically ever. Their burgers rival shake shack, and everything is made on premises. I order/go here on average 3 times a week.
