Baluchi's (3rd Ave)

Extremely slow service. Food consistently takes more than an hour to deliver (inside Manhattan). Arrives cold. Special requests are usually ignored. Calling the restaurant does not help - they just tell you "it will be there any minute" and then it's still another 20 minutes or so. I love Baluchi's food but the service via Seamless has been terrible lately.

I've ordered from Baluchi's on more than one occasion because their food is great and I had nice service but the last experience was awful. On a Tuesday night, the expected delivery time was 30-45 minutes. Our food arrived over 90 minutes late (with false information from the restaurant telling us it was "five minutes away" three times) and the order was incorrect.

The Goat Home-Style curry from the Baluchi's at the 3rd avenue was delicious. Definitely tasted home style with a bit spicy. I wish they had an option like boneless meat as I went a bit messy with the bones. Overall a great taste and delivery option for me. Definitely going to try more items from this restaurant.

The food is great, but they keep the Shrimp Baluchi on the menu even though they don't make it anymore, and when I ordered it they didn't call to correct, they just sent me something else I didn't want. Not good service.

Please be advised that this used to be a five star review praising the food and negating naysayers and accusations of late/inaccurate orders. I'm editing this review to reflect my current opinion. I still think it's some of the best tasting Indian delivery around, but even I can't deny, it's been crazy late the last two deliveries. Today I was told 30-45 minutes. It arrived after nearly 2 hours. The food was cold and the order was incorrect. I'm extremely disappointed. I've been ordering here for years, but I can say with confidence that I won't be ordering from this particular Baluchi's again. I used to be a big fan, but today was more than I could bear. You've broken my heart, Baluchi's. Time to find a new Indian place.

Very disappointed. Delivered food in 1 hr 15 minutes (30 minutes later than their expected delivery time) with no good explanation. Food was cold, and although ordered spicy, was pretty mild. I used to like Baluchi's but will not order from them again after this experience.

Unfortunately, Baluchi's can't get the food delivered as quickly as they promise. A 30 minute delivery turns into 90 minutes. And then they won't credit your account, even though you had to go out to buy lunch elsewhere. Will not order from here again.

I usually order from Bhatti and was expecting Baluchi's to be better, given the reviews. I ordered the lamb rogan josh and found it a little too spicy, not as creamy as I'd like. With all the other great Indian restaurants in the area, I'm not sure that I'd order from Baluchi's again.

Don't judge me for liking chicken tikka masala. It's delicious. When I want it, I want it from Baluchi's because it's consistent and extremely cost effective. I get the prix-fixe and eat for 2-3 meals.

The food is great, but the delivery guy is an idiot. He called me 3 times from I know not what location to come and get my food, but he was not inside the 25th and Park delivery area. I waited for 15 minutes, but he never showed. I walked outside on Park ave and 25th, but he was nowhere to be seen. 30 minutes later, I still don't have my food. What idiots! 8/19/2010

Service is absolutely horrible. This was now the second time I have placed an order only to have a bowl of rice delivered without any of the actual meal. Consistently very late. Food is good if you can actually have it delivered but I give up on this one, there are too many other good places in the area with far better service to waste your time on Baluchi's.

Everything at Baluchi's is par for the course, but the Kachoris are FANTASTIC and I've never seen them on the menu anywhere else. Delivery estimates are generally right on the money too.
