Beijing Cafe

I ordered the General Gao's Chicken Special. It arrived in a timely fashion and was delicious. I will order from Beijing Cafe again.

We didn't finish eating our food. It took forever to get to our place, and the dishes we ordered were not good.

Ordered a sweet and sour chicken, but they sent an order of chicken fingers with sweet and sour on the side. Called the restaurant, and they explained that that's how they prepare it there. Gross.

Ordered steamed vegetables and teriyaki chicken. The veggies weren't steamed, and instead were doused in a brown sauce-of-mysterious-origin. The teriyaki chicken was unrecognizable as poultry or as teriyaki. It came on sticks, and had an extremely tough outer shell. I tried to eat a piece, which bore a marked textural resemblance to beef jerky. Gross. Straight to the trash. Absolute #fail.

Food is sub-par but cheap. The delivery is quick, however, today they forgot my coke I paid for and refused to admit it even though it was written on the receipt . Very strange. I won't order again because of this though..it's theft plain and simple even if it was only a buck twenty-five.

Food quality was fine, we mostly had issues with delivery: 1) We ordered Mu Shu, which comes with 5 pancakes. No pancakes were delivered. We called and complained, they said they would send the delivery person back, that was 3 hours ago and we are still waiting. 2) Delivery person played dumb with tip (which we included online) and tried to get another at the door 3) We ordered 4 entrees and got 3 fortune cookies + empty wrapper 4) No rice comes with dishes, you have to pay extra for it 5) Chicken curry was mostly celery and carrots Good note: Scallion pancakes were not too greasy and very yummy

The vegetarian sesame chicken turned out to be just a pile of deep-fried bread-balls. I like fried stuff, but this had the texture of rubber soaked in oil. In addition, the delivery time was over 90 minutes, with no apology or compensation. And(!) - when they run out of a dish - they just send you a different one, with a note. You don't get to choose your food - I think that's wrong...

Delicious! I've always loved Chinese food and since becoming a vegetarian I've had more limited choices until I found out about this place! Their vegetarian choices give that great flavor/texture without being too grossly real or too fake. It's pretty cheap too with large portions which is nice for a college student like me.
