fries were soggy. wanted cooked pickles which I didn't get (even though the order was very simple). Meat tasted off. I've definitely had a better burger and fries!

I have ordered from Bistro Ten 18 many, many times and usually enjoy the food, but I doubt I will any more. I love their poached eggs, and the quality is more or less consistent but this time I ordered a pineapple upside cake with it and it was almost inedible - halfway burnt (I couldn't get my fork through the bottom it was so black), with gummy overcooked pineapple on top. It was tiny and absolutely not worth the near $10 it cost. I don't mind paying for smaller portions if the food is fresh and well-cooked, but that was highway robbery.

I'll echo other reviewers and concur that the portions are WAY too small for the prices. My salad came in a tiny 5 in x 3 in box. It also came with a small, stale piece of bread. The salad was very good - but the portion was worth about $5.00-$6.00. They also did not include the plastic utensils I requested. All of this for over $12, including taxes and an 18% tip. FYI...a CAN of Coke is $3!!! That should give you an idea of the price inflation...

I got mac and cheese, sauteed spinach, and an arugula salad. Everything was delicious and came in nice paper containers. Great place to dine in as well. They have deals on groupon pretty regularly.

The portions are absurdly tiny for the prices charged; as an example, the $19.99 poached cod entree (with sides!) came in a 2" x 2" x 3" Chinese takeout container, there was room to spare inside, and, frankly, this would have been annoyingly small as an appetizer; the fact that it wasn't particularly well-cooked or seasoned was a side issue. The cheese & charcuterie "plate" is also disappointingly scanty, and (at least on the occasions I've ordered) it came without bread, crackers, or anything else to load the artery-cloggers onto. The lobster bisque is the only reason to keep coming back, and now that they've started the whole "We don't permit tipping through Seamless" nonsense (isn't that the whole point, getting everything handled in one stop?! If I have to reach for my wallet again when your delivery guy shows up, you might as well not be on Seamless), I don't think I will come back.

Chicken was okay but not much of it. Overpriced for mediocre food.

Warning: the Macaroni and Cheese is made with cheddar cheese and green peppers. Does not taste like regular mac and cheese

It's been almost two hours since I ordered. I called 40 minutes ago and they said it was out for delivery. I called back and they said they only have one delivery person and the food would still be fresh. Then they said it was out for delivery 40 minutes ago (so how could it be fresh). They said they didn't have my number to call me...and then admitted they did have my number. Said they couldn't refund my order...but they can...whatever.

An hour later after I ordered I called them and they said it is on the way. Not here yet after 1 hour and 15 minutes.

So I was in the mood for a great meal but hesitant to try something new. Lo and behold I had the perfect compromise - a 25% SW discount to use so in case the experience wasn't up to par, I wouldnt feel as bad. Fortunately Bistro Ten 8 quelled all my fears. First of all, I've had plenty of food from the "pretenders" out there. You know, the places that excel in presentation/colors/plate shapes/etc but the food tastes flat or is overly salted. Not an issue here. Spice selections were bursting off of the plate! I had the Crispy Bass w/ Butternut squash puree and greens, brussel sprouts w/ onions & bacon, seasonal roasted root veggies, maine lobster bisque, and sweet potato pecan tart..... and I don't regret ANY of those choices! The oyster mushrooms & sauce were a great compliment to the fish, squash was "smooth" and delightlful, bisque was fantastic and had more than the "one shred" of lobster some places provide, and again it was refreshing to have dishes prepared with creative spices (rosemary, thyme, etc) that really put a fresh spin on the veggie dishes. Equally as impressive was how all of the courses were delivered piping hot. Many SW places will deliver a lukewarm app or side dish with the main course. But Bistro Ten 8 timed these dishes perfectly as they must've been completed simultaneously. BRAVO! Oh yeah, and I will be back next time in person or via SW even if I don't have a coupon!
