We love Bombay Indian Cuisine. We live in the neighborhood and enjoy ordering take out and also strolling up 9th Avenue and eating in. We have been coming here for years and the staff is incredible - friendly and accomodating. They know our favorite dishes by heart and cater to the vindaloo taste buds of my husband and my desire for mild cuisine. The chicken vindaloo is amazing - not just hot and spicy, but filled with flavor. I love their spinach entrees - chicken dildar, sag paneer, chicken & lentils with spinach and chickpeas and spinach - all flavorful - lots of depth in the spices and always the possible delight of biting into a cardomon pod. Their mango lassis are delicious and refreshing and the keema paratha and the nan are fabulous. Once, when the mulligatawny soup was just too spicy for me, the owner went back into the kitchen and made it again just for me - flavorful but without the heat. The papadum is always fresh and crisp and my husband adores their meat samosas. At the end of the meal, we are always treated to a little dish of Indian rice pudding - rice, cream, cocount and pistachios - on the house. A sweet treat! The people who run Bombay Indian Cuisine are always lovely and attentive. When we eat there, we feel like we are part of their family. Oh, and did I mention how incredibly inexpensive this restaurant is - we always take home a doggie bag and enjoy the leftovers the next day for dinner. Given all the trendy and expensive restaurants that have sprung up on 9th Avenue, Bombay Indian Cuisine is a treasure.

I recently moved to the HK and have been trying different Indian restaurants until I find the BEST! This is the first time I've ever wrote a review on it, but I do not want anyone else to waste their money. If I wasn't so hungry, I would trash this Bombay crap and order from Sapphire Indian, which is where I ordered last week....Bombay has horrible food! the bread was doughy...sauce was runny....wont be ordering again.

This was the first (and last) time I ordered dinner from this restaurant. I have ordered from several Indian restaurants in the midtown west / hell's kitchen area - some of them were really good, some were average, but the food from here (although priced similar, if not more expensive, compared to other restaurants in the area) was way below par - both in terms of taste and quality of ingredients. I ordered Paneer Tikka Masala and a Malai Kofta as my entree, and they come with rice. The Paneer (cottage cheese cubes) was hard, the Koftas (vegetable balls) were still frozen from the inside and seemed to have been thrown into the curry straight from the freezer, both the curries were watery (no texture at all), and lacked both - quality and taste. The rice was not Basmati - and was also tasteless. The one star is for the Naans - which I thought were fine. But then, the Rotis messed it up - they were undercooked and had a strange flavor. Overall, a disastrous meal - and woke up with a bad stomach, too. This was by far my worst Indian meal in New York City. Given the abundance of good Indian restaurants for dine in, take out, and delivery in the area - I would strongly recommend you choose wisely.

I'm giving one star only because the delivery was fast. The food was so aweful, honestly this was the worst food I have ever had out of any cuisine. I'm Indian and know what Chicken Tikka Masala is suppose to taste like and nothing that I ordered even bared a similar resemblance to Indian food most people are used to eating. Please do a favor, burn your money instead of eating this crappy food.

Great food and fast delivery. I appreciate that they allow you to order as mild or as hot as you like it. This is my favorite Indian food in the area and at good prices.

I wanted to treat myself to some nice Indian cooking but this is definitely not the place... my Chicken Biryani ( dry, flavorless.. some chicken pieces still pink) was supposed to come with a salad and Naan bread ( as says so on the site) but all I got was 3 pieces of lettuce and a cucumber slice.. when I called the restaurant couldn't cares less.. even hanged up on me when I was talking.. when I called back they said I hanged up and were extremely rude... no serious place treats their customers like this....

Not my favorite Indian food, but pretty good. I had the Chicken Tikka Marsala Lunch Special. I ordered medium, but needed a little more spice.

I've previously ordered the chicken tikka masala mild and it had no flavor, it tasted like chicken in vodka sauce. this time i ordered it medium and it was way too spicy. The "side salad" that comes with the lunch special was lettuce and a piece of tomato wrapped in foil. They've messed up a previous order and i gave them one more chance, now i'm done. If you need to call the restaurant for any reason, forget it. They'll place you on hold for 5-10 minutes and will be very rude to you when they finally come back to the line. There are too many good places in midtown to put up with New Bombay Express.

I really enjoy Indian food, and I'm not terribly picky. I ordered the lamb vindaloo and mango lassi. The vindaloo was bland, with 2-3 pieces of lamb. Bland vindaloo?? Yup, I couldn't believe it either. The mango lassi had chunks of... something (but it wasn't mango) in the drink. I dutifully worked my way through half of it, but had to toss the rest.

This is not authentic Indian food. I have eaten at multiple Indian restaurants and love Indian food, but this place is probably one of the worst Indian food I've ever had. Avoid it like the plague.
