Delivery quoted for 30-45 minutes, 60 minutes later food had not arrived. I called the restaurant to check-in and was told in a dismissive way that 'it would be delivered in 5-10 minutes.' 30 more minutes elapse and now on to 90 minutes from when ordered still no food. Called the restaurant, was fed same 'another 5-10 minutes' line which I reminded them of the timing, politely asked to cancel my order and to have a refund issued. The man on the phone launched into how they cannot do that and started to get panicky, speaking extremely quickly, etc. Obviously will now have to sort this mess out with seamless for a refund which hopefully I'm granted. It is a real shame too, had delivery a couple times before from Bombay Talkie and really enjoyed their food with minor tardiness. Lateness happens on occasion in anything customer-facing or not. When it does get out in front of it, own up to the issue, manage the customer's expectations and never, ever lie to them. Plenty of good to great food in NYC restaurants and aside from decor which is irrelevant for delivery, customer service is a big differentiator which should not be overlooked. Tonight Bombay Talkie got a fail on customer service and that in this market is unforgivable. Sorry to see such a new inclusion to my rotation out so quickly but I cannot in good conscience deal with the uncertainty and annoyance just for a good dinner.

Food was good, delivery is fast. All I'm saying is for the sky-high prices, maybe throw in some free chutneys? We ordered 3 pieces of naan (in addition to a ton of other stuff) and got literally nothing. Great place if you are expensing it for work, though.

Way over priced. $20 for 3 pieces of chicken tikka masala? B rating and the delivery takes AT LEASE 75 minutes.

Food great. Overpriced, but I order for work, so not an issue.

Order arrived precisely 63 minutes after submitting it online. This was way beyond the 30-45 minute time frame suggested online. Not good. Was the food hot on arrival? Thankfully, it was. However, over $70 for what we had delivered was a bit of a(n expensive) joke! We didn't mind the Chicken Tikka Masala but were underwhelmed by the Tandoori Shrimp and Palak Paneer. I checked a similar order from Baluchis and it would be something like $20 cheaper, surely likely to be delivered more promptly and hopefully more delicious. Guess where I'll be ordering from next time?

The food is pretty good. The delivery service was pretty quick and problem-free. Perhaps they have improved a bit since some of these other comments were written. They are WAY over priced for the size of the portions. It was over $20 for 6 chunks of chicken korma with one cup of rice and a plain naan, and that's before tax & tip.

The food is good the delivery average but the kicker is the portions are absolutely ridiculous for the price. I mean..we even had to take photos of the less than entree sized main. The chicken tikka comes in a dish designed for a very small rice dish and they have the gall to charge you $21.00 to include a plain naan. Its such a pity as with decent management a reduction in price and a clean up of service they would kill it.

Delivery was a joke. I got a phone call from the incredibly rude woman who works there and she told me she had called 10 mins previous (which was a lie, i had no missed calls) and that the delivery guy had buzzed my apartment but that i wasn't there so he returned to the restaurant. But i had been there waiting for 45 minutes. Serving sizes were small but the food was very tasty despite being a little cold from the back and forth.

The biryani was good, but they delivered the papri chaat and behl already mixed together which made everything soggy. Definitely consider that before ordering. Ask if they can package all the sauces separately.

I agree with previous raters, I am close enough to eat here occasionally and I do and recommend it. The take out situation is another story. I called after an hour, and he was "on his way" another few calls and 45 minutes later, he still didn't arrive, and on top of it I got a weird call from a guy on the street saying a delivery person was trying to find my building and couldn't. When I inquired at the restaurant they couldn't explain it, as he was supposed to have a cell phone. I canceled after the hour and 45 minute wait. Also a hassle to get my money back as Seamless Web had already processed my card. Had to call back another day and speak to a manager. Anyway, I like the food AT THE RESTAURANT, but avoid take out.

Horrible delivery -- took an hour and food delivered cold. Stone cold, not lukewarm. The portions would be small if the food was 1/2 the price it is. At these prices it's just insulting. I've tried them twice, really wanting to have a good experience, but it's just a terrible place to order from.

I ordered an appetizer that was cold and soggy by the time i received. The Chicken special was good, but I think the food is a bit overpriced when compared to other Indian restaurants. I would give 4 stars foor food quality and and bring it down to 3 stars for value.

Do NOT order delivery from this restaurant. I love this place for in-restaurant dining. But the take-out was RIDICULOUS -- the smallest portions imaginable. Do not confuse an excellent restuarant with a place you want to order really good food to be delivered. ORDER SOMEWHERE ELSE. THIS RESTAURANT HAS NO BUSINESS DOING TAKE OUT.

Food quantities extremely small and overpriced for what they were. Would not order as a takeout meal again. Total rip off!
