Cafe Blossom (Uptown)

I do generally enjoy the meals at Cafe Blossom and their raw options, though limited, are actually the best on the Upper West Side. One word of advice ... stay away from the raw chocolate cake....it is awful.

Terrific, fresh, and fast. I always feel like I've done something good for myself when I order from Blossom. Even though it's a little pricey, the quality of produce and healthy recipes are first rate!

This is the first time I've ever written a review. Usually I can't be bothered but this food was SO good! I've been to Blossom once and it was alright--I don't think I ordered the right thing. I decided to give it another go tonight and wow am I glad I did! I'm not a big vegan/vegetarian eater and am usually scared away by all the fake meats but I got the warm spinach salad with "bacon" and almost like "fried chicken" and grilled pairs and a great vinagrette. FANTASTIC. (And I used to have a catering business in CA so I'd like to think I am a good judge of food :) Anyhow, I would recommend this like crazy! Try it. I think you'll love it :).

This is my third encounter with Blossom Uptown. The first was back in December 2009 when I ordered home delivery of the Alfredo dish with soy cutlets and it blew me away. The blend of flavors in the sauce was out of this world and the soy cutlets were cooked to a medium brown that gave it a nice bite and great taste. The hubby and I then decided to treat ourselves to a night out and immediately without a second thought chose Blossom. Hubby had the lentil soup which was good and tasted just like my own homemade version. I order the pan-seared seitan cutlet which did not suit my palate. Probably not the fault of the restaurant, it was my first time trying seitan. The rest of the meal was quite tasty. Last night, once again, I ordered home delivery of the Alfredo dish with a side of brussel sprouts. Immediately I noticed the soy cutlets were a very pale brown, hardly golden. They were soft and soggy unlike the well cooked, crispy cutlets from back in December. The pasta and sauce were just fine, but it was the cutlets I was so looking forward to, so I was let down. Oh, well ... maybe a bad night. By the way, brussel sprouts were delicious and aplenty. I add the leftovers to a dish I made tonight. Yummy.

DO NOT ORDER THE LIVE NACHOS!!!!!! For $11.00 you get 3 soggy chips (yes I swear only 3!!!) with a tablespoon of guacamole and salsa. I thought it was a mistake or the delivery boy got hungry on the way because it did take a long time to come. I then called the restaurant to inquire on my missing chips, but according to the worker that's how they come!!! Complete rip off!!! This restaurant should at least indicate on the menu that only 3 chips come in this meal. Save your money, there are better vegan restaurants in NYC that won't rip you off and deliver on time!!!!!!!!!

This used to be my favorite restaurant. Over the past few years the service and food quality has gone really downhill. Most recently ordered my favorite sandwich, the Southern Seitan. Took an hour and a half to arrive, was soggy, the delivery man buzzed after I called specifically asking them to call me to prevent my dog from freaking out and the extra ketchup I asked for ended in no ketchup. I don't know who is running this restaurant but the changes have all been bad. I don't think I'll order from them anymore.

Excellent Vegan food on the UWS. The Soy Bacon Cheeseburger is amazing, as is the chocolate cake. The milkshakes are nice if a bit oversweet however they don't really compare to the real deal in my opinion. The Menu is a bit pricey but the dishes are original and generally delicious. Service is excellent.

The food is actually pretty yummy, but the customer service was horrible. They sent cold, soggy fries and when we called, they told us there was no possible way to refund our money. We then tried to select another item off the menu and there was a one dollar difference and they made us pay the dollar plus tax. $1 for a happy customer - really? We will never order from them or recommend them again.

I ve ordered the cakes to my girlfriend and her family from this place (Chocolate and carrot and lemon ) It was horrible ... it actually almost ruined my relationship with her folks and kept calling me cheap

The food is tasty but the prices...wow. I ordered the mushroom ravioli for $10. I got 3 ravioli. That's it, 3 individual raviolis. For $10, are you joking? What are you putting inside these raviolis - diamonds? truffles? This is a $5 appetizer at best

What happened to the CB I used to love? Have been a regular customer for years but will not be ordering from them anymore. The Warm Spinach Salad and Raw Kale Salad were favorites, and they are no longer offered on the new menu, which is grossly overpriced. Recently ordered the Mushroom Ravioli appetizer and was only given 3 small (albeit very tasty) pieces of ravioli. Always willing to pay a little extra for healthy, well prepared food but that was an embarrassment -- a formerly great restaurant has taken a turn for the worse.

The last few times I've ordered or eaten here in person, the food has been VERY mediocre. I hate to say that because I'm grateful for a vegan place on the UWS. Tonight's entree came with thin, watery, flavorless sauce (for $22), and very undercooked broccoli. Last time, my sandwich had way over cooked seitan blobs that were greasy and almost inedible; and practically no avocado at all. They used to have great food; the recipes haven't changed, but the kitchen is either too rushed, inexperienced, or just ambivalent about quality. Such a bummer!

Their delivery is awful! I live 3 blocks away from them I got my food after over an hour. I ordered sweet potato fries I got regular unetible soggy fries. All the food was cold! This is the second time I ordered delivery and the last time was the exact same problem. I won't be ordering here again!

Great food, nice variety of vegan fare in a neighborhood where vegan delivery is scarce. LOVE their "milk"shakes!!!!

Great-tasting, truly creative dishes, and hard to believe that they're all vegan! I find the food very filling: can't eat a whole entree. So it's perfect to order in and save the leftovers.
