LOVE Cafe El Portal. We order from here at least every week or two. Our faves are the grilled corn, spinach burritos and Mexican hot chocolate. Fast delivery too.

Really tasty mexican! Wish the tacos had a bit more accompanying vegetable filling though. Highly recommend the chicken mole dish. It is divine. Will definitely order from Cafe El Portal again.

I ordered a Tinga Quesadilla, side of rice and elote asado. Everything was bad. The quesadilla was made with rubbery mozzarella cheese. Who puts mozzarella in a quesadilla? The rice tasted VERY fishy. And the elote was undercooked and covered in some cheap red pepper sauce. I would NOT recommend Cafe El Portal - the food was disgusting and i threw most of it out.

i dont know what people are saying about slow delivery, i've ordered 3 times from cafe el portal so far and each time my food has been delivered within 30 minutes, well within the estimated range. food is yummy though i can admit those looking for something very spicy will be disappointed.

This is the absolute best mexican restaurant in all of New York City. Hands down. I have ordered from here dozens of times and have never had a bad experience. And I'm from California.

Delivery estimate was 25-40 minutes, however, the order was not even confirmed until 15 minutes after it was placed. It took an hour total for the food to actually arrive. Then, all three tacos fell apart when picked up, due to the soggy tortilla being unable to hold the contents. Never again.

Awesome authentic Mexican, favorite any specialty on seamless and would give seven stars if went that high. Order from here regularly and favorites include: cecina tacos, camarron tacos, carnitas tacos and the BEST salsa verde I've ever tasted. Delish! And very quick delivery every time!

The food is usually pretty tasty for Mexican food in New York city. I would have given them a better rating but there service is very poor. I have waited over 80 minutes three times for a delivery. Once they forgot my order and I waited over 2 hours but they did give me a coke to make up for it (like that should make up for that long of a wait). Just as bad are the people that answer the phone. The woman that answered the phone when I called spoke broken english and put me on hold for awhile then just hung up. They need a visit to a Dale Carnegie course. Just sayin'

I was a little nervous when I saw the comments about the delivery but mine was earlier than the time frame they gave me (40-55 minutes). And this was the best Mexican delivery I've had in my 6 years of living in the city. The carne burrito and the chicken quesadilla are amazing. I will definitely be ordering from here again.

The delivery estimate states 25-40 mins but we received an email after ordering saying 55-70 mins. After waiting 70 mins, we had to call. The restaurant said, "We're busy" and told us that our food was there waiting but also that it would take 30 more mins. Really, they shouldn't offer delivery if they can't follow through.

Accepted my order and then called me 20 min later to say they couldn't deliver because they only had one delivery person and I was "too far away". YRMV.

Food took 1 1/2hrs to arrive, no call, nothing. Not sure if it would have tasted better if arrived on time but my food was cold and soggy :( Won't be ordering again.

Delivery was not fast (about 50 min) but well worth the wait! We ordered a chicken burrito and a pork burrito and both were delicious, and their green salsa is excellent. Will definitely be ordering from again!
