Chickpea (Chicago)

We were very excited to order Chickpea for a game night get together. We placed our order and then got a call from the restaurant within a few minutes to say that they were out of one of the items we ordered and offering to substitute something else. No big deal. We appreciated that and it was good to know that they had our order and were working on it. Original estimate was 45-60 minutes. After about 50 minutes, we started to get anxious for our food. Once we got past an hour, I called the restaurant to check on our order. I was told that they had gotten very busy and that our food was heading out the door right then and should be to us in 10 minutes. Well, 20 minutes go by and we're now an hour and a half since we ordered. I called back again and knew it was a bad sign when the person who answered knew who I was before I started talking. He apologized profusely and said that THIS time the order really had just gone out the door and should be to us in "10 minutes." The restaurant said they had given us some free Bacleva to make up for the big delay. Food eventually arrived nearly 2 hours after we ordered. The order was correct and the food was ok - but the delay was simply not acceptable - especially after I called to check on the status after the food took too long to get there. And throwing in a few pieces of Baclava (3 pieces when we ordered SIX entrees) really doesn't make up for it. The bottom line is that although the food was fine, it wasn't good enough to make it worth the huge delay. Highly doubt we'd order delivery from Chickpea again. A real shame.

I ordered Amish Chicken Breast and received some kind of beef/lamb sausage. I went back and confirmed that I did in fact order Amish Chicken Breast. Given the timing of reordering, I ate the sausage, which was Ok, but it was not what I ordered.
