Chola Indian

Chola is one of my favorite Indian restaurants in the city. The food is delicious, and I particularly love their lunch buffets. My only complaint is that they are not consistent, some dishes are yummy while others not so much. I also don't understand why they have different dishes in Chola or Chola Indian, when both are the same restaurant. They also add too much oil in some dishes, so not the healthiest option. Sometimes even when I don't select the dinner special they send naan and dal on the side, which is good but they should specify it so I don't order bread on the side. I highly recommend Chola, just be sure of what you are ordering. And definitely try their lunch buffet if you make it out there!

I believe in second chances. After they read my review, they promptly called me up to resend the parathas again.They were so much better this time. They are still a little too thick for my liking but atleast they got the chillis right this time. My favorite though was the Ragara patties that they very kindly decided to send me as well, it was absolutely delicious. I remembered dining here a few years ago and enjoying the food. One lazy winter evening, it sprung up seamless and I went ahead ordered. I was smacking my tongue and waiting for the Gobi parathas and raita. They looked and smelt great (Don't judge a book by its cover- This adage has stood the test of time) but were crazy spicy!! I am a Indian who can handle spice but this was just insane. They should call it Chilli parathas and not Gobi parathas. I was panting and gasping by the time I was quarter way through it. I am not a big fan of the doughy sides of parathas but that was the only respite from this Chilli stuffed monster. I definitely know where to take my enemies to dine.

Great Indian food - we love the chicken chettinad. We order from here all the time. Slightly pricy though, and delivery can take a while, hence the 4 stars...But 5 stars food-wise.

Some of the best Indian food I've had in NYC. Plentiful and lots of nice surprise side dishes that came with the dinner special.

Food took over an hour to come. When called to find out where it was, they said they had sent the deliver person out with 4 orders a while ago. Ice cold Indian food is not tasty!

Great food! Large quantities. Delivered fast and hot. Authentic Indian food. Great choice! Will order again. - Chicken Tika Masala - Saag Paneer - Tamarind Eggplant. Also gave us rice pudding for dessert.

Disappointing, as its not the real Chola kitchen - here's my situation: Tried to order first from Tadka, which is cheaper. Told there was no keema mattar. Tried chola. again, no keema mattar because they are the same kitchen for delivery! The guy promised that he would figure something out, didn't let me cancel the order, and i got some cold food 2 hours later. Ordered from Asia grill in the meantime and got my order 10 minutes later.

fantastic Indian food! The dinner specials are a great value and the condiments were an unexpected addition to my order, very tasty. The plain naan isn't as fluffy and soft as I'd like but still great.

The Good: The delivery was fast. No problems there. The Bad: The cauliflower was undercooked, almost raw, and intead of the lentils they sent me chickpeas. I really wanted the lentils. The naan was too doughy. They're more expensive and not as tasty as some other places. And they don't give you an condiments or salad like many other restaurants. The Conclusion: I'll be ordering from some place else from now on.

This is the last time I am ordering food from here. Consistently they have managed to give an estimate of 15-30 mins delivery, and managed to take more than an hour for the food to get delivered. And by the time the food is here, it is already cold too. It has been more than 70 minutes today and the food is not yet here.

Less than 45 min delivery time. Ordered dal makhani which was bland and there were no spices included. The naan was good and papadum, which I didn't expect. But the other 2 items in the bag that came with were unidentifiable and not very tasty. Would order elsewhere next time and pay less than here.

Ordered on a Tuesday evening. The estimate after order confirmation was 15-30 minutes. It took over 90 minutes before food was delivered. Disappointed.
