Very rude service; the delivery boy did nothing but complain to me about how long the drive from the restaurant was when he arrived. I checked, and it's only one mile. His attitude was not worth the expensive meal prices. I would expect that at a much cheaper restaurant. Will order elsewhere next time.

Good choice if you're looking for local Chinese delivery. The sauteed chicken was great and the general tso's sauce just right. The beef dumplings were a little dry, but the dipping sauce was quite good. I've had the pork dumplings here before and they were better than the beef. They delivered within the estimated window. Overall, a pretty solid restaurant for what it is.

Not too many other places have a diverse, affordable menu where you also get great service and good taste. Nothing about the items that I've tried have blown the roof off, but City Lights is and will likely always be my go-to Chinese takeout place.

I've been to China twenty times, had Chinese food in all the best Chinese restaurants around the world, and my favourite Chinese food is in London. With that said, City Lights is one of the best, if not the best, Chinese restaurants in DC.

Definitely one of my favorites. The food is tasty and plentiful for the price. I especially recommend any of their tofu dishes, and also their moo shoo vegetables. City Lights knows how this dish is supposed to taste. I've had delivery from City Lights on several occasions and I've never been disappointed.

Spring Rolls are delicious... Best crab rangoon I have ever had, steamed dumplings are plump and perfectly cooked, beef with snow peas- a winner, and sweet and sour soup- wonderful AMAZING SERVICE- Fast- All food got here hot! Friendly people! I have never written a review, but City Lights of China deserves it- this will be the only chinese place we ever order from! LOVE IT!

The food here is great -- we go back on a consistent basis & are never disappointed. My only complaint is that I wish that City Lights would pay attention when we request an environmentally friendly order. We don't need all the paper plates and plastic utensils that come with it.

The beef handmade noodles are a step above most Chinese takeout places.

Still waiting for my food over an hour after my order. The estimated time was 40-55 minutes. Finally came after 80 minutes and the order was wrong. I am so disappointed.

It was ok food... not great for Chinese, not awful. The wonton soup was rather flavorless which was disappointing and I would NOT order the beef egg roll again, however the chicken lo mein was pretty good. They added carmalized onions to the top which added a nice flavor and the chicken was good real chicken that tasted good. I would not rush to order from here again.

The only place I actually enjoy getting Chinese takeout from. And like any takeout place, you really have to know what to order. Don't be afraid of the things you wouldn't typically order. It is hard to judge without descriptions. But thats the best way to find out if you like a dish or not. As a vegetarian I like most of their bean curd dishes. My all time favorite is the cold appetizer with the Bean Curd.

This was the worst Chinese food I've ever eaten. I honestly don't believe that people gave "thumbs up" to the food items I ordered, and believe that it was actually who worked for the company that did so. Gross, avoid at all costs! I got the Kung Pao Chicken and the Pork/Scallion dumplings. Even were the food warm or hot when it arrived, it was still tasteless and of low quality. You have been warned!

This old DC favorite can seem a little tired at time, and the prices are certainly no bargain. But they do some things especially well, like House Made Special Noodles. The delivery is always very fast, which is an added bonus when you're especially hungry.
