I've ordered from Deans Pizzeria a couple of times now, and their food is consistently good and always arrives hot. My favorite item is the penne a la vodka: the pasta is cooked perfectly, and the sauce is always not too sweet and not too savory and has just the right amount of cream. There are a couple of reasons, however, why I might not be ordering from Deans Pizzeria in the future: the prices are high for what you get (no bread, no utensils, and long wait), and their desserts are typically disappointing in taste and value. Such a shame because their dinners are delicious!

Dean’s has long been our family’s favorite pizza on the Upper West Side ever since they began folding the pizzas into giant origami shapes. The “Old School Round Cheese Pizza” is actually code for “Round Cheese Pizza Contorted Using the Traditional Japanese Art of Folding.” Sometimes we open the box to find an origami pizza crane, other times it’s a pizza otter, or a pizza sea lion with pepperoni eyes. One time we got an origami pizza dragon that was so impressive, we didn’t even eat it. We kept it and had to order dinner from a different pizza place that we were sure would not send us origami pizza. We still have the pizza dragon. If you want a regular, old flat pizza with sauce and cheese, order from any pizza place in the city. But if you want your pizza folded into an intricate design, Dean’s is the place for you. How do they get them into the boxes?

Awesome square pizza - crispy, great sauce, killer pepperoni - been looking for a go-to pizzeria in the UWS since we moved here - and may have finally found one!

I have ordered from Deans for years. Unfortunately, they are now in the habit of delivering very cold food. about 6 of the last ten orders are cold. I call and they offer to send another, but that does me no good to wait that long. Seems the logistics of ordering to my apartment are broken. It's too bad, the food is good, but they don't remedy the problem.

Deans has picked up their game in the last year or so. Pizza is *consistently* great, entrees are a good value and the delivery guys are fast and nice. The square pizza is basically delicious art. Whenever I'm not sure where to order from, I always end up with this place. Important to also note that these guys are mindful of the neighborhood by not having their bicycle deliverymen bomb through red lights and down sidewalks. Good stuff.

We love the square pizza. The corner crust is delicious! We also like the round pizza, the Siciliana salad and some of the pasta and parmigian dishes. I sometimes think the portions on the family style orders are a little small, but Dean's is one of our "go-to" pizza places.

Deans has excellent food all around. The square pizza is great for groups. And for 2 people the old fashion small round and individual caesar are perfect. Pepperoni and Sausage are a must for toppings. And the penne with vodka sauce is one of the best I've ever had.

Really inconsistent. Last time, my pizza had a rock hard crust/dough with the tiniest amount of toppings you could imagine. Seriously, Deans, one piece of Broccolli on a slice is not enough.

last night was the second time we ordered pizza from Dean's. It was the last time we order from them as well. In both times the delivery took mote than 50 minutes to arrive and the pizza was cold. the first time we ordered, we also ordered pasta, which is really unedible when it's cold, and you can't really heat it... No more Dean's take out for us. btw, after we heated the pizza, it was tasty (though they were really cheap with the topings).

Food's good when it's good. Inconsistently prepared; inconsistent quality of delivery. I stopped ordering from here regularly a while ago. I just gave them another chance and got a pie with the slices all over the box, folded in on themselves...a big miss.

Very disappointed. I ordered the Fettuccine Carbonara and the ingredients were simply not right (I'm a native Italian and from Rome, which is they city where Carbonara originated). On top of the dish not being what its title suggested, the fettuccine tasted poorly and the food was overpriced. Not even close to real Italian food. I will not order again.

I ordered 2 basic cheese pizzas and they managed to screw up one of them with tons of mushrooms and basil, the other was as ordered. How do you screw up a basic cheese pizza order? It arrived fairly quickly and hot, so that's a plus.

Friday night. The pizza arrived late (after we phoned to inquire about lateness) , and without the meat topping we ordered and paid for.
