Delicatessen is a consistent disappointment. We've given them three shots and now we're done. They never seem to be able to get our order right, and this last time were out of a key menu item. Also, the "Award Winning Chicken Sandwich" arrived with way too much sauce, not enough chicken and was just disgusting all around.

You'd think a place called Delicatessen would have decent corned beef, but you'd be wrong. All corned beef is salty, but this was ridiculous. Essentially inedible. Really surprised. High priced to boot.

I order from delicatessen at least once a week and this time I was very disappointed with my order. I ordered 3 eggs any style, with rye toast and requested a side of avocado. They did not inform me if there would be avocado or not and there was not. My rye toast was delivered in a separate container and was not toasted at all, just soggy. There was no butter or jam sent to go on my toast either. I also ordered my eggs over easy and they were full cooked- over hard. really disappointed

This place has really gone down hill in the last few months. Very sad since it was one of our favorites. Not sure what happened- maybe new management or use they are reheating last weeks entrees. The last 6 or 7 times we ordered from Delicatessen our meals tasted like left overs microwaved 3 times over and our salad portions were half the size as usual and grossly wilted and beyond wilted. Sad because was one of or faves.

Delicatessen's staff is extremely rude and horrible. I ordered food on http://seamlessweb.com. I live on Clinton Street. When the delivery guy arrived (some hipster guy with a sour look on his face), he said, "Just so you KNOW, this is WAY farther than our usual delivery area." I had tipped $2.50 for a $12 meal. (That's a little over 20% for delivery.) So I went to my purse and gave him 5 more dollars. THAT'S $7 FOR A TIP, which is way more than he'd make waiting my a table if I had eaten there. He then looked at it and scoffed, "Well just so you know it's really far." I was surprised he wasn't happy with a $7 tip on a $12 meal so I said, "Well, Seamlessweb has you guys on it so..." He responded "Yeah well, seamlessweb doesn't know how far it is." SO WHY ARE THEY ON IT??? CLEARLY THE OWNER OF THE RESTAURANT THINKS IT'S NOT THAT FAR. He backed up and said "Well, just so you know if you ever order again." I was frustrated that he had been so rude about it all and that I had been pressured to give such a big tip, so I called the restaurant and asked to speak to the manager. The girl who answered the phone inquired what I was calling about. Not wanting to get into it with anyone else besides the manager, I told her it was about my delivery order. She then told me the manager was unavailable and wouldn't be able to take my call. She offered to help me, but I insisted on speaking to the manager. She gave me the run-around for another 5 min and then refused again to let me speak to the manager. The staff is rude and will refuse to help you, which is very disappointing considering the food is really good and I enjoyed my fish tacos very much. But now I have to blacklist this place, and i was denied the chance to complain to get over it so I could eat there again. What a shame.

The mac and cheese was good, butternut squash soup was nothing special. Ultimately not worth the price, but delivery was fast.

I've tried the fried chicken and the fish and chips, and both just didn't taste good. Both times I also asked them to delivery in about an hour and a half and they delivered straight away.

The sliders are soooooo delicious! Typically the delivery is very fast but sometimes the fries can arrive slightly soggy but I attribute that to the fact that they are so warm when packaged that steam is created - nothing can help that - Nonetheless I eat every last truffle fry because they are so yummy.

not sure why all the negative reviews... yeah it's pricey, but when you have a long day and want to treat yourself to some comfort food, this is it. the cheeseburger spring rolls arrived HOT (I had to wait for them to cool down) and came with mustard, mayo, and 2 ketchups, plus some delicious pickles. and I haven't eaten the bday cake yet, but it looks awesome. delivery was fast and the guy was sweet (teased me about having to walk up 5 flights of stairs every day). I would def recommend.

A mixed bag for both product and service, that overall begs whether this place is worth the higher prices. Never received the side salad that I had requested in substitution for the regular fries as part of the burger order, the burger itself was dry and tasteless and much closer to well done though ordered to be medium rare. Truffle fries were cold and soggy. Meanwhile, even with the cheese topping burnt and to the side upon delivery, the spinach/artichoke dip was very good, but again could not carry the day and really not worth the cost charged. Called to let them know about the salad and burger and the young lady I spoke with Alexandra gained a couple extra stars with her courteous efforts to resolve the errors by offering kindly and with sincere apology to send over a replacement salad and new burger. May try again solely because of her as the food alone would not have warranted a repeat.

Great dining in or delivery! Artichoke dip is amazing, veg burger fabulous, mac & cheese is always good but the Tilly strawberry cocktail is ridiculous.

Splurged, and ordered the Signature Burger with the side of truffle fries. I can't complain much about the food. It was cooked just right, medium rare as I requested, and delicious. However, something got lost in the translation with seamless. The burger lists cheesy sauce as one of the burgers ingredients. Therefore, I did not add any cheesy, which would have been a 1.00 addition. However, the burger did not have anything resembling cheesy sauce when it arrived, and when I checked the receipt it says 'No cheese'. A burger that includes cheese should either have a hold the cheese option, or a 0.00 cheese sauce option that can be unchecked. With this system, the only way I could get cheese that was already included in the price of the burger is to pay an extra dollar. Not the most important thing in the world, but there is clearly a problem here.

I will not be ordering from this place again. After an hour wait, we finally received the bucket of chicken and lobster roll. Both dishes were lukewarm. If they're going to simply reheat in the microwave old lunch dishes, could there at least be a 25% discount? The chicken in a bucket had 4 really small, unfreshly fried pieces of chicken, a small piece of corbread and two tablespoons of cole slaw. In terms of fried chicken, Peels, Mamas (east village), KFC and Popeyes all rank above this untasty dish. At least there was no hair in it. Do not order from here.

This place is pretty unremarkable. When I first read the menu I was excited to find that you could get a dinner of Mac and Cheese, Fried Chicken and Birthday Cake in NYC. I've ordered from here twice and have yet to get anything above mediocre. First time I got the fish tacos, which were delicious. I also got the Milk and Cookies, and the cookies were dry and reminded me of nasty grade school cafeteria cookies. The second time I ordered the Mac and Cheese, which was dry and had a "smoky" flavor to the noodles, which didn't taste right to me. I also go the 3 Cupcakes which were just OK. I really wanted to like this place, but for the price and the track record, I don't think I'll order from them again. I'll give them two stars for the fish tacos.
