Desperados Burgers & Bar

Today was the first time ordering from Desperados Burgers & Bar, and the last time. First, my order was placed and confirmed via email at 1:10 pm; I received a call from the restaurant at 2:13 pm to tell me they were out of steak, so I substituted with another cheeseburger. I later called the restaurant back at 2:45 pm to check on the status of my order and was told the driver would be here in about 10-15 mins. The restaurant called back and spoke with a colleague of mine (I was away from my desk) to apologize for the order/delivery taking so long (apparently they were shorthanded and only had one cook in the kitchen). Finally, I received my order at about 3:45-3:50 pm. The food looked great and I decided to bite into one of the burgers. I'm not sure what kind of seasoning the restaurant uses on its burgers/meat but it was not palatable. At first I thought the meat might be bad, so I had a colleague try a bite. He said the meat was fine but the seasoning was an "acquired taste". The baked potato and french fries were very tasty though. I tried another bite of the burger but could not stomach it. So I waited over 2.5 hrs to receive cheseburgers that were inedible and tasy baked potato and french fries. I will NEVER patronize Desperado's again and will NOT RECOMMEND it to my friends.

I have ordered from this place three times, and so far, they have not delivered one thing. I have no clue why they continue to appear on this list, if they never deliver anything. Don't waste your time ordering from them.

Excellent burgers...fresh, hot and juicy upon delivery. Definitely recommend ordering from this place!

Awesome burgers, big meaty and perfectly cooked to the med. rare I chose. Cobb salad was great, very fresh, lots of eggs, and bacon. Delivery was right on time and the delivery guy was very cute!

A solid burger, very decent fries, timely delivery, priced similarly to other burgers in the district. Considering that 75% of DC delivery food makes me borderline depressed, relatively great.
