Dirty Bird To-Go

The quarter chicken with sides is consistently amazing here, and delivered fairly quickly. The kale is sauteed in butter and bacon, and the mac and cheese is a must-have. If you're looking for something to drink, I'd go with the Dirty Palmer. So good!

Excellent chicken. However be careful when you order. When ever I order early, say before 1PM, I get chicken that's hard and dry. Which tells me it's last night's chicken. When I order later in the day. or at night before 8PM, I get fresh chicken. The chicken soup is great, but how much chicken they put in it, seems to depend on the mood of the chef. Same with the seaoning, which can get way too peppery, as it is today. I have had to send back dried out and burned chicken, which they replaced immediately, but still...I don't want to think Dirty Bird will try to get one over on customers if they can. Final Opinion: Great Chicken--Most Of The Time.

Dirty Bird is the best...their fried chicken is always on point and the mac and cheese is by far the best in the city. My go-to delivery restaurant. Seriously the best fried chicken that I have tasted thus far and I am from the deep south.

This is quality delivery stuff at a decent price for NYC! The chicken might seem a bit dry to those that are used to the injected MSG laden birds from the grocery store deli but I thought it was fine. The sides were outstanding. The fresh veg of the day was cauliflower and it was excellent. The mac n chese, YUM! The garlicky kale is also worth trying even if ya think you don't like kale.

Order from here quite often. We've had fried chicken, roasted chicken, chicken soup and almost all the sides. It's about as close to homemade southern comfort food that you can get. Love the sauteed kale; can be a bit greasy, but not too bad. Also like the cake-like cornbread.

I always enjoy the chopped salad but I have to say that their customer service is unforgivable and inappropriate. When calling to check on the status of my order, I was confronted with hostile language before being hung up on. I will likely not be ordering from there again. Disappointing.

Food is consistently good, I order at least twice a week. Chopped salad with fried chicken is my favorite, veggies and roasted chicken are always awesome.

It was okay. Definitely greasy. What's the point of deep frying the corn bread? There was no added value! Mac & cheese was okay. None of it was great. Probably won't order from here again.
