Empire Szechuan (Columbus)

On 4/17 I ordered from Empire Szechuan. This is the worst food I HAVE EVER HAD in NYC! My boyfriend and I were up all night SICK!

If you take it for what it is, Chinese delivery, you won't have a complaint. Very fast delivery. The egg roll was very good for delivery. I also thought the empire sesame chicken had good flavor.

Excellent Peking Duck and great dim sum sampler. Thank goodness Shun Lee was closed this night so I could try Empire Szechuan. I think I found the best chinese on the UWS.

I tried ordering from Empire twice - the first time it took 45 minutes for my food to come, and when it did they had gotten my order wrong. The food was average at best. The second time I got the right food and within the amount of time in the delivery estimate. The sesame mock chicken was pretty good, but the rangoon was terrible - if you are looking for a good midtown rangoon, look elsewhere.

I've ordered from Empire several times. The food has always been adequate, nothing special but fine if you want Chinese. But today they (1) brought me the wrong item completely (General Tso's instead of General Tseng's) and (2) the items were made with tons of MSG when I specifically asked for no MSG. I won't be ordering from Empire again.

Good food overall. Good vegetarian selection (try the mock chicken with eggplant in garlic sauce). I called to give out some order specifics and the girl on the phone was extra nice and patient. Definitely order from them again.

By far one of the fastest deliveries I have ever gotten, especially after some slow Chinese places in the neighborhood. Only tried the General Tso's chicken, which was quite good. Prices are a bit high, but other than that very impressed with my first experience with this restaurant.

Food is bland and delivery took longer than reasonably expected (good weather, off-peak time and still took over an hour). Skip it.
