Empire Szechuan Noodle House

I'm from the west coast where we had several outstanding vegetarian options in chinese quisine. Of all the places we've tried, the Empire Szechuan Noodle House is the only one that serves anything palatable, and some of their dishes (lo mein, sesame, garlic sauce) dishes are excellent. Delivery does take a while, but they say that up front.

Enjoyed the diverse veg dishes. Food came in about an hour, hot and decent quality. I'll order from Empire Szechuan Noodle House again.

I give it a 5 star rating in the context of cheap chinese takeout. Compared to the standard places in this category, the food at empire is *much* better and tastier. I grew up eating authentic chinese food and while no take-out place can compare, empire is significantly better than most. There's less of the disgusting cloyingly sweet goop that goes into the "chinese" food at most places. Not sure how the non-chinese food at empire tastes (eg. sushi) but you really shouldn't be ordering sushi at a cheap chinese restaurant anyways.

Cold Sesame Noodles!! Roast Fire duck is also amazing - speedy delivery too. This is my new GOTO Chinese spot for the heights :)

I wish I could give this place negative stars. The delivery took over an hour. I had to call numerous times. The first time they claimed my food was on its way. The next time they claimed they never even received my order, and in the same sentence said my order was for pick-up, not delivery and that I should know the difference! The woman had the nerve to start an argument with me insisting it was my fault. This was the absolute worst customer service I've ever experienced. Not worth the hassle. Never ever ever giving them my business again!

The food arrived on time and was on par with the quality one is accustomed to in NYC Chinese takeout joints. I enjoyed it.

I would give them 5 stars because they cater to the veggetarian community but the last 2 times i ordered they got it wrong. I cant eat meat!

Really rude. I ordered using their promotion that you get a free side on orders over $15, and it didn't say before tax. They called me and told me that since my order wasn't over $15 before tax (it was something like $14.75), they weren't giving me my side. I asked if I could pay for extra rice or a drink or something and get the side I ordered and they screamed 'NO!' and hung up on me.

Mediocre food, with the exception of the juicy buns. This place does stay open late, that's probably one of the only redeeming qualities. Rude woman on the phone, delivery takes so long that the food is lukewarm by the time it arrives. Not worth it. I won't be ordering from here again.

This is by far the best Chinese delivery I've had, and I've tried just about all places uptown. Their twice-cooked pork was phenomenal, and "extra hot & spicy" actually means hot and spicy to these guys!! Highly recommend!

This place is so hit or miss. Sometimes it's amazing chines food (for the heights anyway), and sometimes total crap. Never order delivery from here, the delivery man is rude, the food is cold (i live 2 blocks away), and they frequently forgot multiple items. They also never give you the free stuff (even if you've written it in your online order). I've only ever liked the food when I've done carry out (never eaten in here)- still not always awesome, but at least everything is there

On multiple occasions delivery has taken well over half an hour (we live less than half a block away). Last time we ordered, we received half of our order. We called to log a complaint. It took an additional half an hour to receive the rest of our order. Food tends to be good especially the sushi, stick to take out or eat in (NO DELIVERY!)

My First experience was refunded due to order delivered wrong and some items were over cooked. Miso Soup was sour Fries were not delivered, Fried rice instead Second order was less than satisfactory. Philly Roll had soggy wet rice Chicken was over fried Fries tasted like old oil
