Ethos (1st Ave)

I absolutely LOVE ethos and go there quite often. The seamless delivery service, however, is not overwhelming. Yes, it takes longer than they say and yes, the food is cold by the time it arrives. On this order, I asked for the dressing on the side but it came mixed into the salad already. It was a big salad and I couldn't finish it - but as the dressing was already mixed in I had to throw the rest away. On the plus side: they add lots of bread.

The baked chicken in orzo and feta is delicious!!! Ethos is so generous in that they give you warm pita bread, and regular bread as well as a free desert with your take out entree. I must say the desert is fantastic.

I have ordered from Ethos before and have been very happy, food was great. But on my most recent order the delivery guy never showed up and I called the restaurant and they said they couldn't reach him. I called a second time and they said he came to the building and no one was there (not true because there is a doorman in the lobby). They said he would come back and call when he was in the lobby. Of course i waited and no call. I called the restaurant back and they hung up on me! I will never order from them again.

I would give it zero stars if I could. Low quality food, not well prepared, people don't read the comments, the delivery guy calls ten minutes before he arrives so that we have to wait for him downstairs, small portions, no utensils.

PATHETIC. $29 of shrimp gets you TWO shrimps. This place used to be amazing, and I used to order from here all the time. I also ordered the semolina custard dessert, which used to be sooo soo good - flaky pastry filled with semolina custard. I got two cut up squares in separate boxes - what??? The tzatziki is some of the best I've ever had, but the prices have gone up, and the quality WAY WAY down.

It took over an hour and a half to get my food (3x the delivery estimate). By the time my food arrived it was so cold and disgusting that I just threw it away. I called the restaurant multiple times to check on my order and they didn't help at all - basically just said to keep waiting.

I have ordered from Seamless 5+ days a week for 18 months and this is my WORST order ever. Avgolemono soup was Campbell's condensed cream of chicken but with orzo. None of the meat in the Kreatomezes was identifiable (also, no chicken for sure). All around horrible. Thank god for the free bread or I would have starved.

do not order around dinner time. delivery takes FOREVER and they rush to put it together so it is sloppy and thrown together, not good. When they are not busy, food is good and delivery doesnt usually take THAT long.

Ordered half an hour before it closed and they: 1. substituted my dessert without notifying me, 2. did not deliver the sides with the Arni Soulvaki order, and 3. did not bring me the Tzatziki sauce with the lamb order. By the time I discovered this, the place had closed. Clearly, someone was in a rush to get home. Do not order from this place close to when it shuts down.

THE WORST!!!! The facts speak for themselves and here they are: 1. Delivery estimate was 25-40 min, took 1:10 to get the food. 2. Tried to call re: late order, we got only voicemail, tried multiple times, no answer. 3. Food finally comes, the Moussaka was the worst I have ever had in my life, the eggplant in it must have literally been rotten it was so bitter. We had 3 orders of it, and all of us stopped eating. Tried to call the restaurant, but they of course didn't pick up the phone! DO NOT ORDER FROM THERE!!!
