Express Manna Kitchen

Express Manna is exactly what I'm looking for in a takeout restaurant -- fast, easy, fresh, and relatively healthy all while still keeping the flavor. I think everything at Express Manna is very filling, but the portions are just right and won't weigh you down. Most of the time, I get the Bi Bim Bab (although it gets to be a little cold by the time it gets to you) or the Bulgogi Bab. The tofu stew is also really good -- lots of tofu and vegetables (which change depending on what's fresh, I suppose). I have no complaints about the delivery time and the delivery people actually stand out in my mind because they're so gracious -- they greet me by name and tell me to enjoy. Small thing, yes, but it's a step above having food thrown in my face by an impatient delivery person. All in all, Express Manna is a go-to place for me.

I wanted to like this place, but what happened today compelled me to leave my two cents. I've ordered from this place a few times because I am limited to only a few Korean lunch options on seamless. Their stews are not very flavorful, bul-go-gi dry, and the spicy buckwheat noodle, well, just don't waste your money. I ordered it today, and they totally botched it--gave me sweet not very spicy cold noodles with pickled cucumbers, dikon, 1/2 of a hard boiled egg and kimchi, whereas, the one I ordered, the spicy buckwheat noodles, included sliced beef among other things. When I called to inform them of their mistake, they made it seem like I was in the wrong. No apologies, just "we'll send it to you (*click*)." Some time later, I am delivered 3 thin flavorless slices of beef. A dissatisfying lunch for $15.01...I feel ripped off. Never again.

WOW such quick service. They took like 15 minutes to get to me. Plus the food is great. On a hungover afternoon, I ordered the super healthy silky tofu soup and it came with decent sides and rice- I was immediately cured. yum.

Do NOT order from this place. The food is decent. However, the delivery service has the worst reputation in the neighborhood. Waiting time is usually 90-120 minutes and they have the rudest delivery people in NYC history. They make up excuses not to come upstairs so they don't have to even bother getting off the bike. The running joke in our building is that they always say "the buzzer didn't work" or "your elevator is broken." Ha!

I live on the same street only 2 aves away from EMK and it took them 40 min to deliver my order (where usually they only take like 15m) and once it got here the order was wrong. When I called to inform them of this they told me that I was wrong eventhough I was looking directly at the email from seamless web showing the order how I originally placed it. They told me they would deliver the correct order immediately but I guess our definitions of the word immediately are not the same cause the guy didn't come til an hour after I called them to complain. I used to order from EMK regularly and never had a problem but after all these issues and getting no customer service from them I wouldn't order from them again!
