Famous Original Ray's Pizza (54th/Bdway)

This place used to make the best pizza there is, it was out of this world, for real! i think a new management took over and they ruined everything, i wish i could give them a -1 star for the rotten pizza i got!

Great tomato and basil pizza. Don't be fooled by the Greek salad - just iceberg lettuce with some feta and black olives. Love their pizza but it's usually cold when they deliver, definitely not tipping anymore.

This. This is the best pizza in the city. As a pizza fanboy, I've been to the knowns and the unknowns. And this is it, this is what you're looking for. The classic new york slice that you remember from your youth. No fancy shmancy arugula with feta, no thin slice emphasize the bread bs. This is the archetype. Forget about geography. Its not in tribeca or billyburg. Its in an unglamorous part of town. Who cares? They make the best pizza in the world, right here.

I ordered a large pizza with chicken and mushrooms and an order of garlic knots. The food was fairly average. You can find a better pizza elsewhere in the area. Above average price and mediocre food.

Famously bad. Garlic rolls were burnt & hard as a rock. I ordered Italian ice, Didn't receive it. Pizza was a small slice and the topping looked as though they were thrown on by a child. I wouldn't recommend this place.

NEVER, EVER ORDER FROM THIS RAY'S PIZZA!!!!!! They shorted me waters, and when I called to ask if they could credit me, they accused me of lying...the woman on the phone said that she can count and that she is positive they put the correct amount of water. Just because she says, "the customer is always right, but I know that there was the right amount of water." It's the perfect example of the bad customer service...they THINK they are doing the right thing, but really they are not.

The pizza was pretty good, but it did not come in the time slot. Instead of 15-30 minutes, it took 45 minutes. We also specified "well done" and there is no way this pizza could be considered "well done."

Tough and bland, the plain cheese pizza looked and tasted as though it had been sitting at room temperature for several hours. I can't imagine it tastes much better warm. Unless you are famished and have no other convenient options, the pizza from this place is not worth the money or calories.

Pizza and wings come uncooked and cold. This is the 2nd time we've received it this way, after thinking we must have just had a bad experience the first time, because other Ray's locations have delivered fantastic food. But no dice...even the 2nd time, everything was undercooked, including the chicken wings, which is just gross. Also, asked for no onions, but received onions on the pizza anyway. Will not order from them again.
