Five Spot Soul Food Restaurant

I love this place. Great food, especially the catfish and the yams! And the cakes! But the macaroni is pretty bad. I liked it before they went the truffle oil route.

I had to throw out most of my food - it was that bad. That kind of sums up the experience. Cold. Soggy. Fries were sitting in so much oil that at first I thought they accidentally put some sort of sauce on them. Won't be ordering from here ever again, ick!

The neighborhood has always been hard on this place because over the years they have had inconsistent quality of food, but I'm glad there still around and hopefully doing well. It's become a Fort Greene/Clinton Hill staple and definitely worth a try.

This was a horrible first time experience. The food was not great and the mash had so much pepper it was not edible, plus they forgot my salad and then never brought it to me! This was my first time ordering from Five Spot and I will never order from again.

First time I've ever had tasteless soul food. Thought that was impossible. I mean, c'mon! At least put some salt on your fried chicken. However, I appreciate that they deliver late night. Yuckaroni & Cheese, too.

I agree with everyone else's comment. It never takes less than an hour for them to deliver and the delivery people are a little unsaavy when it comes to customer service. The food is a little expensive given the style (obvs not gourmet) and service. I probably won't order from here again.

Took over 2 hours with no explanation. Came in black plastic bags, barely sealed. And all the food was flavorless and WET. Wet, I say.

TERRIBLE SERVICE. Took an hour for my order to leave the restaurant and then it was sent to the wrong address. So I waited almost two hours to get COLD food!

Awful service, ridiculous delivery time. I tried to call and couldn't get through. I contacted Seamless Web after the food was an hour and a half late. Food arrived almost 2 hours after I ordered it. I tried to talk to the delivery guy and refuse it, but he was super pushy and I felt bad for HIM so signed for it. BIG mistake. Plus they charge a fee? Absolutely not. Cannot say how the food is because my sandwich arrived soggy and inedible. I tried to reheat, but it was too far gone. Mac and cheese looks gross. NEVER ORDER FROM HERE.

Food came an hour and 20 mins after we've placed an order. First they called us to say that they didn't have any seafood items so we had to change our order over the phone. They also didn't have chicken noodle soup as we found out when our food had arrived and which they didn't tell us about over the phone . Our food came cold when it's arrived and instead of ginger ale they brought mountain dew which we don't even like .

This place is extremely unprofessional and is staffed by people who can not be bothered with your order. Told us we were out of delivery range, when we are clearly located inside the map on their site. When I pointed this out, we were told that the driver doesn't know the area, and can't possibly make the delivery. That makes sense I guess. The food is not that great, and since the fact that they deliver to us was their only positive attribute, I think that we won't go back. Do yourself a favor and try Smoke Joint or Peaches if you're in the neighborhood.
