Francesco Pizzeria

My husband and I love the simplicity of of well made Margherita pie. It can be pretty hard to find especially on the UWS. Well look no more, Francesco Pizzeria accomplishes this with the perfect combination of cheese, marinara sauce and basil on a thin crust. If you like Margherita Pizza I'd give it a try.

I received the wrong delivery and when I called to ask if my order could be corrected, the manager would not correct the order and hung up the phone on me. I had to get a refund through my credit card company. I recommend you find another pizzeria.

This pizza is a staple Upper West Side spot. Reliable quality, fast delivery (in the area) and manages to taste the same every time you order it. The crust has olive oil which makes it very filling. Even if you're hungry, you can only eat 2 slices. One suggestion - tell them you want the crust CRISPY. No toppings necessary. Onions are a good option as they are very sweet. We've ordered other items from them and I'd say, everything is a bit on the heavier side. The garlic bread is made with real garlic -- very strong so not for the weak. Overall, we are happy to be frequent customers at Francesco's.

They were so incredibly rude on the phone. After an hour went by and my food hadn't shown up I called them. They told me there was no order received even though it was clear they had received it and had sent me the confirmation email. I protested and they basically told me to 'take a hike'. I called seamless who confirmed that they had received the order and must have been lying to me because it was near closing time. The Folks at Francesco's are liars and do not order from them! Seamless was very apologetic and gave me a $10 discount for a future order which I will NOT be using at Francesco's!!

(read the past reviews - and don't agree at all).... we started ordering from Francesco about 2 months ago - and love their food. Food arrives quickly (and we're not so close to them!), tastes fresh and cheesy - with very nice sauce. Haven't strayed much from pizza with toppings (they make extra thin if you ask!!), but have tried their ziti and its well made. We think they do a super job. - Steve Bochner

Calamari terrible, ordered Marsala, terrible as well. Mozz sticks the only thing good on the menu. Way overpriced. Never write reviews but with all the great Italian on the uws, this is quite bad.

I've ordered chicken parm platters from here 20 times... usually thick chicken breasts with plenty of cheese and sauce. This time, thinly sliced chicken which wouldn't be used in a Lenny's sandwich. It was terrible...esp for $20. PLEASE let me know when you've changed back to real chicken.

Hands down my favorite place when I just want good food fast. The veggie pizza options are great - they put TONS of broccoli/spinach on their slices. Delivery has consistently been really fast. The people who work their also seem genuinely nice - efficient, too.

If you have ever walked by this place its a small hole in the wall joint and it turns out great food- great pizza but also great italian dishes - quick and easy delivery

Ordered the veal and chicken marsala. Both were swimming in oil and had absolutely no marsala wine or flavor. The meats weren't even flour coated. I called and complained and they said everyone loves their marsala. Yeah right...I asked to return one and they said NO. Bad move in my book I used to order at least once a week from them. Chicken was not clean and had cartilage on it. GROSS all in all.

I have ordered many pizzas from here. Normally a 4 * I would say. This time was took 1h and was very cold and the toppings all slid off to one side. I phoned them and they rushed a fresh one round in 20 mins.

Pizza was delivered sideways with cheese and toppings all over the place. In the past they have forgotten sodas, sent the wrong orders and taken over 1:30 minutes. Place has great food but always have problems with the deliveries, then they are rude when you call and ask to have it fixed. Real shame just have to stop using them as they just can't get their act together on the delivery issues. Just too many times with problems.
