Here's the thing, if you're looking for american-style Chinese food, look elsewhere. That's where the bad reviews pop up below. Stick with the Szechuan food and you probably won't go wrong, but understand that it's going to be very spicy and very oily and you may not recognize everything if you haven't had much experience with this type of food. I've always had great service from these guys, so I was surprised to see others say that they are slow.

I love this chinese restaurant and have been ordering with them for 2 years now. But their quality of food is changing --- seems like the shrimps are too tiny and too few in their "Singapore noodles with shrimp." And I keep requesting my order to be MILD -- I don't think they care coz I get it too spicy. I like spicy but not to the point that I can't enjoy my food anymore because it's super spicy. The Lemon chicken seems to be dissappearing too -- the batter (flour around it) is too thick. I guess I will have to find another chinese place.

This was the WORST Chinese food I've ever had. I could not identify the meat that was in the dish that I ordered. NEVER AGAIN will I order from here.

Updated Review: Food is good at this restaurant, however, service is awful! I ordered food to be ready for pickup in advance. The old Cantonese woman at cashier looked completely clueless when I mentioned my seamless order. I had to show her my email confirmation, to which she went on to lecture me on how I should not have ordered in advance and I should have confirmed my order via phone if I order in advance online?! Confirm via phone after placing an online order? Is she kidding? Then I had to sit there and wait 20 minutes for my order to be cooked since she just realized she forgot to put my online order in. Who is she to lecture me because of her own incompetence on managing logistics of online and over-the-phone orders? And if this restaurant cannot handle online orders which often may be placed in advance then don't put their restaurant on seamless!!! I will never order from this restaurant again!

The absolute worst chinese food I have ever eaten. This stuff barely passes as food. Heed my warning and never order from here.

Good, relatively authentic Chinese food in midtown. The soup dumplings are really nice.

I am Chinese, and this is the best most authentic sichuan food. You have to know what to order. Sichuan food is known for it's spicy food. If you dislike spicy food, you probably won't be very happy with this place. Get the cold eggplant in wonder sauce, the dan dan noodles, dry sauteed chicken in spicy red peppers, sliced fish in spicy spring water sauce, ma po tofu is ok here but not the best i've had. It would be a waste to order american chinese food here. FYI, chicken with broccoli and general tsao's chicken are not a real dishes in china... or at least no real chinese people actually eat them. :)

Simply one of the best Chinese restaurants in New York. At the moment, the chef is particularly good (2011). I wish I knew other places this good, even in Chinatown. To rate my dishes: the SLICED CONCH W WILD PEPPER SAUCE is heavenly. (better than the same w hot oil.) CURED PORK W GARLIC SHOOTS is dry-sauteed dish to beat all others, barely any sauce, as it should be, but fatty off course bc its bacon. SAUTEED BITTER MELON is a personal favorite, and hard to find, but ask for very dry/ little sauce. for a very fresh vegetable option, add SAUTEED PEA SHOOTS W FRESH GARLIC (not on SW menu, just ask for it). The service is brusk here and atmosphere nonexistent, but for authentic Sichuan food, there is no better choice.

My boyfriend and I were pleasantly surprised. Believe it or not, living in Midtown - it has been hard to find a regular chinese take out place. Either the lo-mein is too artificial, too salty, or just plain gross or the general tsos chicken is lacking the chicken....With that said, all that we ordered we were pleased with. We ordered the Lo-mein which was delicious, the general tsos chicken which was also extemely tasty AND meaty, the spicy chicken & Chinese broccoli which was OK - definitely more broccoli than chicken, vegetable rolls which were OK, and we decided to give the chendu spicy dumplings a try since neither of us knew what they were! Surprisngly, they were excellent!

Great sichuan place, the gui zhou spicy chicken and dan dan noodles are really tasty. For something less spicy the young chow fried rice is also a good choice.

The cold sesame noodles and dan dan noodles here are fantastic. This place is my go to place for authentic sichucan food. They have many authentic dishes with the dried pepeprs and sichuan peppercorns (be careful bc they make your tongue numb and tingly - very weird for first timers). The american chinese dishes are all good, but the items to be tried are definitely the sichuan dishes. I recommend the spicy soft shell crab.

The double cooked pork is to die for. It's my guilty pleasure. For some reason, I've had it at other branches of Grand Sichuan, but it's absolutely the best at this branch. The delivery can take a while sometimes.
