fried rice was soggy and had a noodle in it.... and i can't believe i paid $5.25 for the sichuan wontons because it was seriously too small and not spicy at all. i usually get their sichuan food (braised beef in chili sauce) and it's delicious so i guess don't get their non-sichuan entrees.

any bad reviews are from people who order from the "american chinese food" part of the menu. this place is for authentic chinese food. if you want an egg roll and some chicken and broccoli, order from somewhere else. if you want sichuan won tons or some ants climbing up the tree, this is the place to be!

Grand Sichuan is my default restaurant when I feel like decent (real) Chinese food, though it's on the pricy side. Red Cooking Pork & Chestnuts is my favorite dish there, along with any vege dish. I had high hopes for the 3 cup chicken, unfortunately it was dried and too sweet for my taste.

Very solid traditional sichuan cuisine. Not the best, but definitely sufficient. I wouldn't go for the more pedestrian americanized fare though - stick to the authentic dishes.

Worst food EVER! Seriously, every podunk town in the country has a Chinese restaurant, most of which manage to have edible food. Here in NYC - restaurant mecca of the globe - sits Grand Sichuan. Starting with the shrimp dumplings - tiny, sticky lumps with a pin sized (not kidding) piece of dried (not kidding) shrimp-like something. The wonton soup was literally yellow water with 1 tasteless dumpling w/pork (I think) and a few hapless bits of dough floating around. The twice cooked pork was simply fat and oil - yummy! No flavor AT ALL. The only decent thing was the pork bun, but I strongly suspect they buy those frozen from people who know how to cook. O.k. so I just got my replacement order and....yep, sesame chicken is miles better than twice cooked pork. Of course that means the chicken is terrible, not rediculously hideous. I think they are improving!

I love Sichuan/Chongqing food so it's AWESOME to have Grand Sichuan here when I don't feel like taking the 7 to Flushing. Get the Chongqing chicken (with bone or boneless). Their hot and sour soup is weird, not the best.. just FYI, in case you love getting hot and soup like me at EVERY american chinese food restaurant. :)

With the veritable bevy of chinese restaurants to choose from in NYC how is one to pick? At the recommendation of a friend I tried Grand Sichuan on a whim. EXACTLY on par. Let me not mince my words this is by no means authentic chinese food it is american chinese at its finest. The moo shu chicken was so good not at all overly salted as the dish can often be. The vegetable dumplings are wonderful. If you are having trouble deciding which chinese food to order....def give this spot a try!!

Honestly, it was awful. We threw most of it away. This was our third order, having given them a chance twice before, ordering different items. Never again.

The food was oily and was not exaclty what I ordered. They have poor customer service and did not provide a refund when I sent back the food.

Rice was mushy, chicken was chewy, and spice was bland. We will not order from there again.
