Far and away the worst turkish food I have ever ordered. I ordered the 28. Kofte Entrée which tasted like typical italian meatballs without a hint of middle eastern flavors. Even the rice was not particularly good. I also ordered the hummus. Aside from the fact that this hummus was tasteless, to add insult to injury they provided too little bread. The bread was so small that we were only able to consume about half of the hummus (which coincidentally was as much as we could stand to eat).

SMALL PORTIONS -- much smaller than they used to be. I ordered the sis kebab entree and it was so stingy that I had to check to see if they had added a half-order option that I selected by mistake. I also ordered the mixed appetizer plate and I literally didn't get enough hummus to shmear a bagel -- seriously! I actually called the restaurant about this and they said that I should just not order it again. I won't order anything from Hanci again. The other Turkish options in the area are just as good if not better and you get much more for your money. Why pay more for less?

best turkish food around! everything is great! never failed to deliver a 5 star dish! great sit-in place too. the only dish i've had that is less than 5 stars (i've had almost all their dishes) is the falafel... their version is pretty large and as a result the very inside is a bit undercooked. but still the VERY BEST turkishfood in nyc!

The food is good but its a little pricey for med cuisine, one place i truly think eating in the restaurant gives a much better experience and a better value for the money.

We have tried quite a few Turkish restaurants in the neighborhood and Hanci is by far the best. Their take out is always quick. The kabobs, adana, and sigara boregi are the best!

Excellent. Fresh and delicious. The sandwiches are made on fresh, flaky, authentic Turkish bread, and the salad was as fresh as can be. Can't believe I just discovered this place now after living down the street for almost a year!

The lamb chops were good but while they gave you four decent sized pieces of lamb chop, the veggies & rice were pretty mediocre, plus portion was small for $20. The calamari was ehhhhh, definitely not ordering that again. Considering I spent $30+ on food, and only received maybe $20 worth.. most likely not ordering from this place again unless I have a serious Turkish craving. Luckily they're one of the only Turkish places near me or I'd take my business elsewhere. Also considering I only ordered an app and a main dish, and they're located 3 blocks away, I didn't really think it warranted a 1+ hr delivery time... but it was during prime dinner time on a Friday night so I'm willing to give them a pass on that.

I feel like many kebab places are just run of the mill and aren't much better than street meat. This one is so different! Really nice quality lamb, chicken breast, and even the ground meat is quite delicious. On top of that, everything was perfectly cooked! It was quite juicy and flavorful. It came with some grilled veggies and a tomato (stewed or grilled), and all together the dish was very good. Edit: they really need to do something about the bread situation. They provide you with one piece, which isn't enough to eat any of the dips with. When I called, they said the bread was for people eating in the restaurant. I've gotten unlimited bread when actually eating there, so you'd think they could give you at least a few pieces if you're ordering hummus or the haydari.

The food is amazing! The portions are quite small for the price but everything on the menu tastes like heaven. I loved the shish kabob sandwich with lamb. The cacik was a bit too garlicy but still great.

Hands down the BEST falafel i have ever ordered and the closest to the ones my bff, who is from Palestine, makes. the adena was good but not the best; the food was a little too buttery for my taste but i will definitely order the appetizers again and from the just the taste of hummus served with the falafel, i cant wait to try it.

Very dependable quality, although it can take a while for delivery. We've ordered from them numerous times and now just opt for pick up. Try the Falafel sandwich!

I find the food here to be tasty and fresh. The hummus is the best tasting of the ones I've tried on 9th and 10th Aves in the 50s. Delivery is quick and have never been disappointed with my meal.
