Haru - Third Avenue

Recently tried this place after hearing about it for several years. I could not recommend our sushi (nori) soaking wet and mushi, our cod appetizer (something we order from lots of places) was tiny, burnt, and expensive. I was very disappointed with this place and will never order again. We ended up throwing out the majority of the meal, then I made some soup from what I could find in the fridge, that soup was better than any of the items we ordered from Haru.

Ordered from Haru, seamless confirm suggested 30-45 minutes for delivery time. After the suggested delivery time elapsed, we called to check on our order. Answer: "has not left yet, don't know when it will leave because we don't have delivery people available". Cancelled order. Never ordering from Haru again.

I wouldn't recommend Haru until they get their delivery system up and running. The food was okay, but the boxes of sushi were a mess. It looked like the two boxes had been dropped or just haphazardly put together. Also, the ginger and wasabi were shoved together in a single canister, which made it inedible. Presentation like this in extremely unappetizing for sushi, even if it tastes okay. I would be more understanding at a low price restaurant, but its completely unacceptable at a so called 'upscale' sushi restaurant like Haru. I mean, I paid $20 for this meal--after discount. Completely unacceptable.

Im not sure why there are all these bad reviews. we ordered really late (almost closing time) and the food arrived hot and was delicious!

solid sushi fare at this Upper East Side location. Sushi menu is reliable but nothing special. The sushi is pricey and for the price, you can find better sushi elsewhere. Kitchen menu items are good, especially the beef negamaki.

Fish tasted old. The yellowtail/scallion roll had no scallion but something else. The shrimp tempura roll and the special roll were 80% cucumber. All in all one of the worst sushi places to order from.
