Havana Central (Times Square)

Took 2+ hours to get my food for lunch time, with an advertised estimated delivery of 1 hour (60 minutes). Called in to find out the status and was placed on hold more than 3 times til I finally got an answer that delivery guy was on his way and should be there in 10 minutes. They should update their delivery time from 60 minutes to 130 minutes.

Update: haven't started ordering on a regular basis, but the few times that I have since last review, food arrived on time, hot and tasted good. Ordered roast chicken with plaintains on 1/22/10, I'm only a few blocks away, just couldn't get out of the office... Order arrived an hour and a half late, food was ice cold and inedible... Called Havana Central and spoke with Daniel whom I'd spoken to earleir to try and find my order, which at that point was an hour late. He appeared to be genuine when I politely told him that my food arrived an hour and a half late and ice cold reminding him I'm only a few blocks away and that I was only able to eat the small salad included with the chicken. I further told him that I undesrtand this type of thing happens and I'm letting them know as a courtesy so they can fix the delivery problems going forward. HE then offered to refund me the lunch. To date that order has not been refunded. I'd like to reiterate I never asked for a refund he offered it, and based solely on that it should be honored. Food is ok, but I won't be recommending them anymore.

Greasy and flavorless Cuban imitation, typical Times Sq. type food, overpriced for the quality that you get. Tastes like fast food Cuban, and made me sick to my stomach after eating.

Grilled chicken sandwich and fries always good, always consistent. The pork is also flavorful. Both times I've had them deliver, the food has arrived in a reasonable time frame.

Awful. Called me after 45 min and said they had no idea when the food would be ready, and that I should cancel. This was a sunday afternoon, not even a busy time!

Absolutely loved the steak sandwich. Loaded with thick strips of steak cooked to perfection along with a generous helping of onions, this was truly the meal I wanted on a very busy day. The potato wedges are also crispy and delicious. This is my first time to order here, but certainly won't be my last.

First time I ordered from here on SeamlessWeb, and likely the very last. They "lost" my order - I called after an hour of it not showing up (received confirmation), went through 3 people before a manager got on the phone to tell me that she was sorry that the system wasn't working on their end, and I had to ask them to make sure that I wasn't charged. In contrast, I have ordered from a restaurant on SW that mucked up on their side - they immediately sent out the order, credited the charge back to my account, and even threw in dessert on top of that. I hate being "that guy", but they made absolutely no effort to win me back as a customer.

The food from Havana is great however much to my disappointment the beans portions has been less than half per container. It has gone to the extent where less has become the norm. In the past I used to received almost to the top, now I receive LESS than half. If portions are being decreased than so should the price however, the prices seem to be going up. To add additional injury the chicken that I been receiving thru my deliveries has been practically burned as well as hard and dry (dry to the point where it looks orange). I'm sure management may regulate the quantity of beans however burn & dry chicken leaves me pondering. As much as I enjoy Havana's meals and regardless of the beans portion I have maintained my patronage with the establishment. However, I will be compelled to take my business elsewhere if service doesn't improve. I shouldn't have to dine at the establishment in order to have good service. What once drew me to Havana Central was their tasty beans but if everytime I get less and less. I'm better of leaving it to fantasy and order my meals from somewhere else. Regretfully this email isn't to compliment the establishment but to hope that there's a improvement for those who order online. Sincerely, Jessie

I ordered the paella with shrimp, chicken and mixed vegetables. It arrived on time, but it tasted terrible. It was watery. The shrimp and chicken were of low quality and the vegetables amounted to green pepper and onions that were not properly cut up before being added. I had to throw it out.

The food is Always awesome. This time I ordered the order was not correct twice. Although not a bad experience the Catering manager was amazing worked hard and FAST to correct the error. The company i work for orders from here ALL the time. We will keep on ordering as long as the food is amazing.

THE FOOD IS FRESH AND TASTY. THE SERVICE IS PRETTY FAST. THE STAFF IS PROFESSIONAL AND COURTEOUS. LOVE THE RESTAURANT--MAKES ME FEEL IN OLD SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO (ALTHOUGH THE RESTAURANT IS CUBAN). MUCHO EXITO, HAVANA CENTER!

Worst place ever no good customer service. I ordered a dish they called and it wasn't available so I ask what was and it was a cheaper dish then what I had paid for. I asked if I could get another side since I still had some credit and it was now going to be short .50 cents and instead is just saying sure since we don't have your original dish we will wave the difference of .50 cents they said no. Really good way to keep a customer. Sad when I finally got the food it was bland and seemed to be left overs from the day before not fresh.
