Havana Central (West End)

I like Havana Central's food - the roasted pork sandwich is one of my favorite dishes around Columbia. However, their service is absolutely terrible. Nearly every order I have placed with them has been messed up. Sometimes, the ordered item is sent prepared differently (once I recieved a sandwich that was supposed to have 3 ingredients, and instead only had 1) - other times they send the wrong thing or even forget parts of the order. To make matters worse, calling to correct the order is just as fickle. One time I was promised a missing item would be redelivered in the next 30 minutes, but an 90 minutes and 2 calls later, it was no where to be found (eventually we just gave up on it). With my most recent order, my call was diverted to someone who wasn't even at the restaurant. When I finally spoke to someone at the restaurant, they didn't understand why I was calling, even though I repeatedly said that I'd recieved multiple incorrect items. Eventually, they redelivered, but after 30 additional minutes, my taste for their food had been soured by my frustration with their terrible service. Unfortunately, their in-restaurant service is equally bad (and they don't have the roast pork sandwich on the eat-in menu). I think I'm done with Havana Central for good. Even their tasty food can't save them this time.

I order from Havana Central hoping for a quick salad and a sandwich for my co-worker after seeing that the delivery time would be 15 - 30min. After 35 minutes I called to check and see i they had left yet, and was told it was on it's way (only 5 blocks down the street). After 55 minutes, I called back since the food still hadn't arrived and was told after 2 minutes on hold, that they could not get ahold of their delivery boy. Finally, after a full hour our food finally showed up. The sandwich was cold, there were practically no sweet potato fries, only one of the two drinks were in the bag, and although I clearly stated in the comments on my salad that I was allergic to avocado, when I opened up the bag sure enough there was half of an avocado sitting on top of a pile of lettuce making it inedible. Overall, I had a horrible experience with Havana Central and will not be ordering from them again.

The delivery took over 2 hours! Called the store and they hung up countless times while connecting me to manager. Needless to say, there customer service is horrible and I didn't speak to anyone regarding my meal until it was delivered. I will never order from here again.

I like the food, but the delivery is awful. 15-30min? I'm already up to 50min and counting.

Great food, but delivery takes FOREVER. Two consecutive orders took an hour and a half to arrive (we're just 10 blocks up from the restaurant). Tried calling the place to see what was up and just got put on permanent hold. So if you live around Columbia, you're probably better off picking up.

The empanadas are DELICIOUS, as are the sweet potato fries (although they arrived a little on the cold side). The plantains could use a little work, but if you're craving them in a pinch, they're not bad. Definitely order the empanadas though!

Consistently excellent food and great service. The cubano empanada is AMAZING and travels surprisingly well; I've never gotten a soggy one, and it's always still hot.

Great tasting, well seasoned Cuban dishes. I have never had a bad experience with this restaurant. Try the roast pork dinner or sandwich. Yum!
