I frequently go to Hawaiian Island Grill to pick up food and this is my first experience through seamless web via delivery. The deliver time was prompt and the cheeseburger was absolutely delicious. All their chicken dishes have great taste and texture. I really love this place. Oh, by the way, they added a new sections of snacks that is a must try.

Boring grilled chicken and boring rice that arrived COLD and 40 minutes after their estimated delivery time. Avoid this.

The food here is really awesome. The first time I ordered from here I got the huli huli chicken and the portions were very large and the flavors were really wonderful. I don't know that I would really characterize everything as Hawaiian, but it is all delicious. The sandwiches are also very big and fresh. I highly recommend this place.

I grew up in Oahu and ate local hawaiian food and this restaurants does NOT comparare to even the worst local style restaurant in Hawaii. I got Hulihuli chicken and motchiko chicken which is a local favorite in Hawaii and they tasted horrible. The hulihuli chicken and macaroni salad taste like medicine and was dry. I expected so much because it felt good knowing there was a local hawaiian restaurant in NYC but definitely a wrong misinterpretation of the local food.

Who knew I could indulge my love for hawaiian and polynesian cuisine at the comfort of my desk. After a trip to Hawaii a few years ago, I always lamented the lack of choices in NYC. This restaurant changes that by using authentic spices and styles of cooking. Did I mention it is good, so good. My only caveat: I wish the side dishes were as authentic or as good as the main dishes in channelling the big Island.

I guess this restaurant was under new ownership since last year. The "hawaiian" food has really gone down hill and is no longer even close to authentic.

Everything here is excellent! And the prices are sooooo reasonable! Where else can you get a ribeye steak lunch (with rice, slaw, and a macaroni/potato salad mix) for under $7? The ribs are so tender they fall off the bone. The BBQ chicken isn't hot and spicy -- it's more sweet and the sauce is like a bourbon sauce -- so if you're looking for spicy, it isn't for you, though it's great for me. The "Hawaiian street corn" makes you feel like you are at a luau. I order from here every chance I get!

I truly do not enjoy writing negative reviews about a restaurant, however... I was a former fan of Hawaiian's food, they have a unique offering and a tasty selection. Yet, the condiments I received with my second to last order from them were moldy. Yes, moldy. So, I didn't order from them for some time and lately decided to give them another shot. This time, without being graphic, the food went in and out much faster than I would have desired. Thus, I unfortunately cannot recommend this restaurant unless you are physically able to see the food being prepared... it's a shame, as I thought their food was of high quality at one point.

Very, very poor experience. $13.95 barbecue ahi plate consisted of three absolutely tiny medallions of cold tuna, with a small handful of limp, cold soggy fries and a half-filled container of macaroni salad (at least the latter was supposed to be cold, I assume). It's been a while since I still felt hungry after a $17.00 (after tax and tip) lunch. The $13.95 was for a regular "dinner" portion - so I honestly can't imagine what their special plate lunch, which supposedly consists of a half-portion and doesn't include the two sides, must be. One and a half forkfuls of fish on a spoonful of rice, maybe? I mean, honestly, I would have considered the portion I received small for a lunch special; to pay the full dinner price for that is just insulting. The ahi (while it was fresh and cooked to the proper degree of rareness) wasn't really what I'd call barbecue - the only taste present was that of the tuna. Which, in itself, wouldn't be that big a fault - if they'd at least supplied more than a couple of mouthfuls worth. The fact that it was cold didn't hurt the fish that much, but the fries, being both cold and soggy, were virtually inedible (fortunately there weren't that many to try to choke down). The food, to be fair, probably was reasonably warm when it came out of the kitchen. The problem was that the restaurant got the address wrong, sending the poor delivery guy to an office we vacated last year, despite the fact that the Seamless receipt *clearly* has the correct address on it. What the heck -- do they have their own database and think they know better than Seamless does where we want our food sent?! Anyway, a big waste of delivery guy's time and of my time as we both waited pointlessly for many minutes in different lobbies. Hopefully they'll be more careful in the future to look at the actual address on Seamless orders, but it won't affect me, because I certainly won't be ordering from them again.

The delivery estimate was 20-35 minutes, and the food shows up in 70 minutes. Hence, the food was already cold, and the meat was not cooked properly.

DO NOT ORDER HERE. Yet another local establishment that delivers but can't maintain any level of service once the food leaves their doors. Ordered my food, it didn't come and the place lied again and again about their supposed efforts to contact me for delivery. I can't exactly rate the food since it never came.

The food arrived after 45 minutes when the states delivery time was 20-35 minutes. The huli huli 1/2 chicken had great flavor, however - the manner in which they butcher and serve it is bizarre. The entire half chicken, inclusive of the carcass, was hacked into thick chunks/slices causing you to go on a hunt to avoid the slivers of bone and chunks of gristle that would be avoided if it were simply presented as a half chicken for you to cut yourself. In addition - by pre-slicing the chicken they caused it to dry out. Shame

Ordered the whole chicken ($16). It was a whole freaking chicken. Took two boxes, and three+ meals to eat it.
