HBH Gourmet Sandwiches Inc.

HBH makes very good and tasty sandwiches. The jalapeño mac and cheese is great! For those of you who complain about the cost, keep in mind that this is no deli sandwich. All of their meats are smoked/cooked/prepared by them. I think the prices are def. higher than I'd like, but the quality shows in the products.

Yelp reviewers rave, but I do not get why. Cheesesteak was ok,very small, not worth 15 bucks, and did not include chips. We called to see if homemade chips were forgotten. We were told chips are excluded when you order through seamless since seamless takes a cut of their profits. This should be clearly stated on the seamless site. 15 bucks for a sandwich that other places would charge no more than 10, and they are worried about a cut in profits? No thanks.

Food is excellent, delivery is quick. I've ordered from them 3 times now, so you could say I'm a bit addicted. If you're complaining about "portion sizes" then you're clearly a glutton. Quality over quantity people, quality over quantity. The pulled pork, big macdougal and brisket sandwiches are excellent so far, that's as far as I've gone through the menu. Home-made BBQ sauce is also amazing.

Sandwiches are really really good (tried the smoked brisket and pulled pork), but I definitely can see why other reviewers were saying they're pretty small for the price. Sauces don't overpower the flavor of the meat, which is good, and the accompaniments (zucchini pickles, red onions, etc.) go really well. The chicken satay sandwich my girlfriend got was a bit gristly, though. Fries are good hand-cut style with flaked salt. Would order from here again for deliciousness, but not necessarily for value.

Not quite sure why this restaurant gets such high ratings. It's *okay* but nothing to write home about. I've given it many chances but every time the food arrives kind of cold and soggy and bland. It's like the owner has never tasted their own menu? The Chicken Satay Sandwich sounds like it'd be rad but it's is horrible. Totally flavorless. The chips are awful. Also flavorless. I really want HBH to be good. This area needs a good sandwich shop that delivers and this could be it if they just cared a little more...

I have ordered several times from HBH. Granted, their vegetable sandwich at $14.00 is ridiculously expensive, but it "was" delicious. The last time I ordered it the bread was stall and the sandwich tasted a little strange. My husband ordered the Bon Ju sandwich and wasn't satisfied because also, the bread was stall and it was very dry and had been short on ingredients. I called and a man answered. I politely told him that I ordered from them and the order had some problems. He told me very rudely, "THEN DON'T CALL HERE AGAIN!" and abruptly hung up. I called back and a girl answered. I said I hope that wasn't the owner and she said he was. I am a chef in NYC and own my own catering company. Sometimes I have to deal with very difficult clients, so I know a thing or two about customer service. This guy is a complete ripoff and he shouldn't even be in business.

I've ordered from here about 4 times and it progressively got worse. Two times they left items off the order. The first time they did end up delivering it an hour and a half later and the last time they left off a sandwich, then they were magically closed when I called. Seamless ended up refunding me for the whole order. Major bonus for them since I was only expecting the price for the sandwich. French fries are the best thing on the menu and that's not saying much.

Have had several different sandwiches here and they have all been delicious. All of their smoked meats are so good. I'm not the biggest fan of the mac and cheese, but their sandwiches totally make up for it. I probably order from here once a week (don't judge), and they always deliver very quickly.
