Hill country is great in theory. But they are so hit and miss! especially with delivery. The sides are okay but the meat is always mixed between okay and mediocre. THe key to good bbq is consistency and these guys do not have any.

First, let me say I love the food. I would eat the ribs every day... But the delivery is killing me. Last time, I ordered 3lbs of pork ribs, and they only sent one. It really sucks waiting over an hour to not get your full order. Yes, they sent over the rest, but it was more time I had to wait. This last time, I again ordered 3lbs of ribs. I didn't have to wait too long. I finished one "pound" of ribs, and put the rest in the fridge. It seemed like the "pound" I ate wasn't quite a pound, but maybe I was just really hungry. So today I take out the two other "pounds"; and notice one of them only has *three skinny ribs*. No way that adds up to pound. I measured, barely 10.5oz. I measured the second "pound", and it's less than 12oz, 3/4 of a pound. Off by over 1/2lb, or over $6. So, no more delivery from Hill Country. Really, it's faster to walk over and pick it up, and at least there I can watch them weigh the ribs and I know I'm getting what I paid for.

I have ordered from Hill Country a few times and overall my experience has been positive. Fortunately, delivery of BBQ is not time critical, but don't order if you don't want to wait. In fairness, their delivery times have been reasonably close to actual times. The quality of most of the BBQ is pretty good in my opinion, but their styles that may not be to everyone's taste. For me, their Flintstonian beef ribs are pretty bland, but they are not an item I crave. And fortunately I like my brisket lean and think their lean brisket is way better than their moist brisket. I also think their sauce is pretty insipid, but I always have to doctor BBQ sauce. Sides are generally good. Overall, better than the local alternatives if I want BBQ delivered, but not world class.

This is the best Texas BBQ in New York City, hands down! The portions are generous, and the quality is consistently awesome. Sauce is unnecessary, as always, with perfect brisket. I order from Hill Country BBQ - NY once a week.

We always order from Hill Country on employees birthdays. Before seamless web it was dreadful to place order with the restaurant because they're so popular and thus busy. Upon a co-workers suggestion, an order was place via seamless web. The order arrived on exact time with all the items and extra utensils which is always preferred.

Hill Country is a southerners idea of BBQ. It is well seasoned and cooked well. They take pride in the product they create even making great side orders to round out your meal. So often you get okay sides and bbq that is made better with a great sauce, but doesn't stand alone. Hill Country defies that norm. I love it. HC all the way!

I order from Hill Country when I want to go out to dinner, but the weather or something else prohibits the occasion. It doesn't feel like delivery; it feels like restaurant food. The only problem is that I feel like it's better suited for in-person ordering because some ribs are bigger than others.

hill country should be synonymous with amazing moist brisket. one bite of the beef brisket and you'll find yourself wondering if you're in the lone star state. yeah, its that good. if you're looking for sides, get an order of the baked bbq beans and mac and cheese. I love to mix the two together and form my own concoction, the BBQ bean mac and cheese.

Food is good, brisket is dry. They got the order wrong, you have to wait on hold for over 15 minutes to talk to someone to correct it, which is way too long. No sauce is provided (and needed since as I said, the brisket is dry). Being from the south where are barbecue is king, it's sacrilegious not to include sauce.

I was craving BBQ so when I logged onto Seamless I was thrilled to see a BBQ place that was rated high. The order came in less time than estimated (was at my door with in 30 min vs the 45-60 min estimated). I ordered 1 1/2 lbs spare ribs, mac & cheese, slaw, cornbread. I wished I ordered none of the above- with the exception of the cornbread. First when does BBQ not come with BBQ sauce? Oh thats because they sell the sauce on the side and you have to order it separately. Considering I spent $30.00 on this lunch could they not toss in a BBQ sauce? I ate one rib and stuck the rest in the fridge until I pick up some sauce from the store. The mac & cheese was just ok, the slaw was dry, but the cornbread with the honey butter was delish (they did throw in the butter for free when they charge extra for it). Long story short I will not be ordering from Hill Country again and suggest if you are craving good BBQ, STAY AWAY from Hill Country.

Truly excellent Texas BBQ. Love the moist brisket, beef ribs are amazing. The jalepeno/cheese sausage is good. Texas caviar is great, but maybe slightly too sweet. Coleslaw is good, but not as good as RUB's mayo slaw. RUB might be better for pork, but Hill Country's beef is awesome.

I love this place but they always and I mean ALWAYS forget something from my order. I've ordered from Hill Country 6 times now, (only once on SeamlessWeb) and every time I've ordered a soda or two and have yet to receive a soda. Other stuff has been forgotten also. Great Brisket, great sides and desserts just don't order a soda because odds are you won't get it.
