Honshu Sushi

I have been disappointed by most sushi in Jersey city, but Honshu sushi is one of the better choices when it comes to sushi. The sushi was fresh and tasty. Only problem is that the rolls are a little on the large side, which sometimes makes them difficult to eat. I got the rock shrimp as an appetizer and that was pretty mediocre. But most of the sushi I got from here was very good.

The sushi we received had a very "fishy" taste, which to me either means not sushi grade or not fresh. I am picky about my sushi. There are better sushi places in Jersey City with comparable prices which I have never had this problem with.

Delivery did take the full hour, with a 20% tip. The food was not great - the shrimp was fishy and the spicy tuna was only okay. My husband's food came incorrectly (not made inside-out, but as maki, for which he paid for the inside-out construction). I would not order from this sushi place again.

I am absolutely done with this restaurant. I am a regular customer, I order via Seamless at least once a week. Today, a roll I have ordered 4 times in the last month came covered in tempura flakes. The reason I have ordered that roll so much is that my husband is allergic to tempura and it has never come with crunchy flakes, nor does the roll description mention crunchy flakes. When I called the restaurant to try and get the correct roll, I was told multiple times, "That roll has always come with crunchy." I would like to emphasize again, this is a roll I have ordered FOUR TIMES in the last month. I was initially told that they would send me a roll without crunchy, but then I got a call a few minutes later saying the manager had refused to send over a new roll because "that roll always comes with crunchy." My husband called (because now he was mad!), and the manager told him they would not be sending a new roll and that they didn't care that we were regular customers, because they have no record of us ordering with them since we do it through Seamless. Simple solution to that problem - no more orders from us! It's too bad, because I generally liked the rolls I got from here. But there are too many other sushi places in the area to waste time with a business that changes an item and then LIES about it.

Always, tasty fast and dependable, but we never call and only use the app... Bear in mind that this is the best delivery sushi in JC and probably better than any sit down places here as well. Enjoy.

Ordered form Honshu several times. Food was OK, a bit overprice but at least they deliver to us. When my wife called on the phone to order, they would tell her over 1 hr delivery time just to get rid of her. When I order from seamless food would be here in 1/2 hour, and I make sure leave a good tip. Today tried to reorder, went through the whole form and PW, then it says doesn't deliver to this address. Guess we are taking our business elsewhere.

I dream of sushi! This place is my go to for sushi. They deliver which is rare for sushi places, and they are a block away from the office. They always accommodate my weird requests since I eat clean and can't always indulge in takeout food. Even when I go there they are nice. This place definitely saves me from the monotonous meal plans I follow to stay in shape. =) thank you honshu

My go-to place for sushi delivery. The fish served is always fresh and they give healthy portions of fish relative to each piece of sushi. Delivery is also very fast.

The delivery took as long as advertised but wasn't very quick. The sushi was good and they included all the necessary items with it (chopsticks, wasabi, ginger, soy sauce). We got a shrimp tempura roll, an eel cucumber, and a spicy roll combo (Otsu combo). It sounds like a lot, but aside from the shrimp tempura roll, the rolls weren't especially big. But I felt the quality was solid (good, not great) and I was pleased with the order. I'd order from them again.

The delivery was extremely fast but that was the only redeeming part of the experience. The salad was large but gritty. The shumai was clearly premade, frozen and then poorly reheated leaving them tough and largely inedible. The sushi was bland and flavorless. Even the heaping mounds of wasabi did nothing to help this awful meal. I couldn't justify giving this restaurant another chance.

The sushi from here is always fresh. The Naruto roll is amazing if you're avoiding rice. Additionally, they are very fast and they have the ability to use brown rice instead.
