Hot Clay Oven

If you're an avid Indian cuisine lover, Hot Clay Oven wouldn't necessary blow your mind. But hey, it's a good change-up from the typical lunch food you'll find elsewhere in the neighborhood.

The food is great when it arrives correctly. I've ordered the same thing from Hot Clay Oven three times. Each time I have a different experience. This time the food was cold and missing the carrots. The last time the food was perfect, and the first time, they forgot parts of my order and it took over an hour to get it resolved. I'm hoping for consistency, because this could be a great place.

Maybe it is because I'm closer than other people, but my food came in under 20 minutes and was hot. I had the wrap and a chicken bowl and thought they were both good.

DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE. I ordered on 3/27 at 730pm and received food at 940PM. I cslled the restaurant and was told they had no idea when food would arrive and I would have to wait. A second call yielded a manager who told me they'd comp my next meal, but I cannot imagine ordering from here again. The food might be good-- but I'll never know since mine arrived stone cold. Thank you Hot Cla Oven, for destroying the night of someone who'd just come home from the hospital and wanted to enjoy a meal with his fiancee.

Food is good, but they've never gotten my order right. I even ordered extra items last time and was charged for them, but they were left out. I've learned my lesson and, unfortunately, won't be ordering from here again. This is NYC! Too many other good restaurants to have to deal with their poor attention to detail.

With the help of my co-worker, I ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala with your choice of either Naan or rice, (I went for Naan) Samosa, and Mango Lassi. I expected the CTM to be in a plastic container, but to my surprise, it was wrapped up in the Naan bread, as a sandwich. OMG, so delicious! I enjoyed every single bite! The Mango Lassi was wonderful. The Samosas, though very tasty, were the only issue, which is why they didn't receive all 5 stars. They sent me 2, instead of 1... And, they neglected to send any kind of dipping sauce for them. I will ABSOLUTELY order from here again!

This place has consistently good food. The delivery is super fast and friendly. Some of the chicken types are a little wacky (chicken "kebab" is sausage-like) but they are all tasty. The spicy curry sauce is so spicy! I still order it but end up chugging drinks.

food was disappointing; not very flavorful, scarce, cold, and one of the orders was incorrect. delivery was slow, took over an hour when it said 30-45 minutes.

5/12/11: A first try with this eatery: Rice bowl (beef), Salad bowl (chix) and jalapeno naan. The delivery was late, but the food was Surprisingly Savory - tender meats, subtle rich flavors and fresh lettuce..... I'll certainly order again.

Incredibly fresh alternative to Chipotle. Delivery has always been good for me, but then I live a couple of blocks away. But I've never had a bad experience with food from here.

The rice bowl and wrap is good..sauces included with food would have been nice, the samosa leaves a lot to be desired:( and if I didn't check I would have left without the drink I ordered..
