Atomic Wings (UES)

What happened to this place? The service was never great, but at least the food was... wings came only half way cooked and everything was at best room temperature. Horrendous.

This place is AWFUL in terms of customer service. I placed an order, and they said 60-75 minutes. At the two hour mark, I decided to call. After being placed on hold THREE TIMES for a total of 15 minutes, I finally got someone. He told me all of the seamless orders were cancelled...sorry (not very apologetic). I never got any cancellation, only a confirmation. Their attitude was terrible - a total insult. I will NEVER spend my hard-earned money here. In my opinion, you should have your act together, this stuff isn't that complicated. If I could give less than 1 star I would, but it forces me to choose one.

I'm done ordering from this place. They CONSISTENTLY show up late. Currently I have an order a hour and 25 mins outstanding and their delivery time states 30-45mins. Every single time you call when an order is late. It's the same BS; "your order is on its way". The food quality is also horribly inconsistent.

I tried this place a few months ago and was unimpressed, but decided to go back in 2013 and it was much better. It's on the upswing. I plan to go back and if it is good again they will earn another star.

They always forget to add blu cheese and ranch. Heat varies every time even though I order the same "category" every time.

Awful. The food took almost two hours to arrive and they forgot the side of ranch when I had ordered extra. The food was so-so. Never ordering from here again.

Years ago I used to order Atomic Wings from bars that offered it in the area. (Spanky's & Down the Hatch) These were places that had pretty solid service, a sit down restaurant and bar with a somewhat professional waitstaff that can handle providing service. Now that Atomic Wings has a standalone store that offers nothing else but wings, it seems they need to hire cheap help that has no experience serving the general public. The food is just thrown together crap. Soggy wings, old dried out vegetables and the sauce now is prepackaged processed garbage. Trust me, pass on this.

So I thought it couldn't be as bad as all the reviews said...I was wrong. Even the mozzarella sticks, which I'm sure came out of a freezer, were bad...the worst marinara sauce I've ever tried! The wings were sooo greasy and soggy. The onion fries were, mediocre but not horrible. NEVER.AGAIN.

I saw Atomic Wings and had a nostalgic pang to order. A horrible disappointment is the kindest description I could give. How does "spicy" food taste this bland and dirty?

Delivery was fast. Fries came soggy, onion fries were soaked in grease. But it was the chicken that made me think of the Dunwich Horror. I don't know how you make boneless wings (aka fingers) fatty, but they somehow did. They must have decided to use neck meat in there. I read the other review saying they varied and its true, the last time I ordered from here it tasted great. This time I ended up tossing it, what disgusting rubbish.

Well that was pretty bad. My wings arrived late. They had lost virtually all of their crispiness (or never had it to begin with) despite my specifying "extra extra crispy". There wasn't much meat on them, and some of them had an off (almost slightly fishy) taste, perhaps due to old frying oil.

So being that I used to live by the one on 60th and JUST ordered tonight from this one, for those curious I thought I'd fill you in. This place always seems to be a hit or miss. Sometimes I would have excellent food, sometimes unedible. Today at this place, I would say a hit. I forgot how good the smothered cheese fries are and thought about taking a pic after I clearly devoured half of them. If you like chili cheese fries, to me you can't top these. Now the chicken on the other hand, can be a little dry. Also, their hot is HOT, I say this because I like hot stuff but their hot is almost too hot (you would be better off mild). I remember the sandwiches and burgers being decent from this place but judging by the review below I guess that too, can be a hit or miss. I do know however I would order from them quite often and they never upset me enough NOT to order from them again, I'm glad to have one in the area and so far this one seems to be at a good start. I may up my stars after a few orders to confirm they are more consistent then this chain has proved to be. Another thought, BIG proportions here. The smothered fries could feed 2 to share or one as a meal...

They left out portions of my order. I told the delivery guy and he said he'd bring me up the remainder... he never did. The burger they did bring me was dry and tasted horrible. Not at all worth the price. Ka-kaw, Ka-Kaw
