Broken Rice

a pretty quality pho spot in williamsburg. Banh mi's are quite tasty, papaya salad is a good starter as are the dumplings, and vermicelli bowls are good as well.

OK actually so it's not 5-star food, but basically this place does one dish really well. The grilled pork on broken rice. The fish one is OK too. Everything else I could take a pass on, but the grilled pork is my go-to Asian dish in the neighborhood. Wish there wasn't a $12 minimum though.

The order was delivered within 25 minutes and was piping hot when it arrived. The pho soup was great - the broth was really tasty - my only warning is that for vegetarians the 'vegetarian' tofu & mushroom pho is not suitable as it uses beef broth. That said, it was extremely tasty! The dumplings were a little doughier than I like, personally but my husband loves them. The papaya salad was a little disappointing - not as tasty on its own as I would have hoped, but would be good mixed in with a stir fry or something spicy I'm sure. I will order from here again.

They used to just be a Banh Mi place. Then they renamed themselves "Broken Rice" and put a few different items on the menu. Avoid them: they're just meat served over rice, poorly. It's an adequate banh mi place, but you can really do better.

Our spring rolls smelled like rancid, rotten feet. I had to take them off the table. Then, naturally, we were nervous about eating anything else that was delivered. We called and they kindly refunded our money,. But please BEWARE that there are some serious quality-control issues.

over an hour late, my pho soup broth spilled and at 9:30pm the delivery guy had the nerve to ask me what i wanted to do about it....if i wanted a refund. ugh
