Carl's Steaks - Philly Cheesesteaks (Chambers St)

Being a native Philadelphian, this was not even close to a real Philadelphia cheesesteak. Wouldn't reorder.

I have ordered twice from this restaurant and am just not thrilled with the quality of the product or the delivery service. I tried both the chicken and steak cheesesteaks and they arrived overcooked, under sauced and just not pleasantly edible. I really wanted to like them, too, because I love cheesesteaks! But unfortunately, I will not be ordering from here again.

The food is great but the delivery was 30 minutes late. They also forgot to put cheese on my cheese fries.

take their delivery time and multiply it by 2 and thats the LEAST amount of time it will take for them to deliver. if you call- the girl will not even ask you your order number and tell you they are on their way. Third time their delivery person must have been hit by a bus or took jfk to go 15 blocks. Cheesesteak FAILURE.

Never going to order from this place again! We ordered and the food showed up 2 hours after we got a confirmation that it would be 30-45 minutes! I called the place twice to see the status of our order and finally decided to cancel the order only to be told by a rude attendant that we couldn't get our money back and that we had to call Seamless to get a refund. Then the attendant started arguing about the time specified. So I asked to speak to the manager who finally decides to talk to us . In the end we refused the food and the manager said that he would cancel our order. All this hassle for 2 bloody cheesesteaks!

As close to Philly as you're gonna get in NYC. Pat's, Jeno's or CARL's?? Carl's holds its own against the two powerhouses in Philadelphia!

Great cheesesteak! I've been looking for a place like this for 20 years (reminds me of my high-school days!) -- I don't like "Philly" cheesesteaks with the green peppers & onions but this place was fab with the hot peppers. They just need to offer a bacon cheesesteak and I'll be a total convert.

I've eaten quite a few cheese steaks after going to grad school with a Philly native. But this one is seriously mediocre. The peppers tasted like pickles. The mushrooms tasted like they were dumped out of a can. Meat was ok if a little bland. Bread was good though and the cheese and juices soaked it just the right amount.

Carls should prob look into shortening their delivery radius since almost all negative complaints are on delivery time.. that said I think they are fantastic.. its a simple cheesesteak any way you want it... the meat is really tasty the fries are perfect... what more could you want? then again I live right down the street from them ;)

besides the fact that my order took over 1:30 hrs to arrive and the fact that our sandwiches were delivered different than what we ordered and cold, missing onion rings and chilly fries it wasn't that bad of an experience, just will NEVER order again.

My food never arrived. When ordered the status say 30-45 minutes. After 90 minutes waiting I called the restaurant and was told it was 'on its way out the door' After 40 MORE minutes I tried calling and the restaurant is now closed.
