Iron Sushi

DON'T ORDER HERE: WE WERE FANS BUT ARE NO LONGER. We have ordered over 40 times now and we used to love Iron Sushi and gave it 5 stars. Now we give it one star and will no longer order. Tonight the food took 1 hour and 50 minutes to arrive arfter being told 25 to 40 minutes (they used to be on time), 2 out of the last 3 orders they forgot to give us soy sauce, hot food came ice cold (and we appreciate that it may arrive warm which is fine) and the salmon was 50%+ fatty. To top it off the crab roll had the paper still wrapped around it but seaweed on top (2 out of the last 3 orders). We called to give them a heads up and while they insisted on giving us the next one free they did not do this either time. New owner or manager? Who knows and we no longer care. Too many options to waste a meal for us. Better off ordering someone where else. It was great till last week.

Iron Sushi has tons of options for rolls (I love the dynamite, signature, and iron rolls), the fish is fresh, and the food is reasonably priced. This has become my go-to UES sushi place. I usually order for pick-up, and the food is consistently ready in 20-30 mins. I ordered delivery once, which took 30-40 mins.

I ordered delivery at 2pm on Friday Sept 2nd. The food arrived quickly--at 2:20pm. It was fresh, really good and exactly how I ordered it. I would order form Iron Sushi again.

Good sushi in the desert of food that is the UES. We order from Iron Sushi at least once a month; their lunch specials are also some of the best.

I will never eat anywhere else for Sushi on the UES other than iron. The fish is so fresh and I love their specialty rolls. They are so creative and delicious. If you dine in for dinner, you get a free spring roll! Sometimes you get the spring roll when you order delivery, but I think it may only be for dine in. Spring roll or no spring roll, I will always order from Iron Sushi and no where else. I'm always 110% satisfied with my meal.

We love the sushi platter for two. The fish is always fresh. Iron Sushi is usually on time and we love the extra edamane they sometimes throw in.

The food is great... when it finally arrives! Iron Sushi needs to update its delivery estimates. They say 25-40 minutes and it has already been an hour (and I still have no food). Last time I ordered from them, the food took an hour to get here too.

I placed an order on a Friday night with a 25-40 minutes delivery window. The food took almost two hours to arrive. During that time, the staff was repeatedly unhelpful when I placed follow-up calls to check on my order status. For instance, I was told the matter would be looked into and I would receive a call back within 5 minutes, but more than 20 minutes elapsed and I received no call. When I called the restaurant again I was told the order was on its way and would arrive momentarily. To the contrary, it took an additional 30 minutes from that point before my food arrived. Unfortunately (but unsurprisingly), when the food arrived, my sushi was warm and my noodles were cold, congealed and pretty close to inedible. Disappointment hardly seems severe enough to describe my displeasure with this experience.

Disgusting. Sushi smelled fishy and was barely edible. It went in the garbage and the little I ate made me sick. STAY AWAY from this place!

The best sushi on the UES. The sushi is always fresh and the prices are great too. I have never had a bad meal here. It is my favorite sushi place to eat in and take out.
