This place serves the best renditions of all the classic dishes I grew up eating at King's Wok in Bayshore, NY. It was love at my first taste of Jimmy's House. Probably because they put love into their food and costumer service - they're a kind family who clearly work hard to produce the best Chinese cuisine I have ever experienced within any realistic delivery radius of my 21st & Lex apt. it's a completely unassuming place, but every bit as tasty as Shun Lee, if you trust the palate of a round-eye who is also a proud glutton with a high metabolism. They call me "Snax," but I simply enjoy good food in my mouth, often. That's what this place delivers. Thank you for being there for me, o' House of Jimmy.

I had to write an updated review - I've ordered from Jimmy's a number of times and never had problems..until today. I ordered a Chow Mein dish and got a chicken and rice dish instead. I called up to tell them that they'd sent me the wrong order and the lady on the phone insisted that Chow Mein was a chicken and veg dish, not noodles???!!!!!! WTF???! I've ordered this dish at a number of places and in different countries and it seems that everywhere apart from Jimmy's House is Chow Mein not a noodle dish??! I suspect it's because they were getting close to the time when they stop taking orders for delivery and couldn't be bothered to make what we actually did order and instead of admitting it tried to make us look like we were in the wrong??! Terrible terrible terrible customer service, I'm NEVER ordering from here again!!!

Fast delivery, good fresh chinese food. Excellent value and proportions. Some reviews here said they ordered chow mein and didnt get noodles. FYI chow mein is made with RICE not noodles and is an american/chinese dish, one of my favorites. Jimmys does a great chicken chow mein "just right".

In full disclosure, I've really only ordered 1 thing from here... the beef stew... both in lunch special (over rice) and noodle soup formats. Ordered it in an attempt to satisfy my craving for my mom's beef stew, expecting to be disappointed but craving it too much to care-- very pleasantly surprised. This is probably the closest stew to my mother's I've had since moving here. It is unfortunately (to me) all meat without tendons/skin/etc that you often find in this style of beef stew, but the seasoning is well done and the meat is decently well.

I am writing this review not to bash the restaurant but rather to give some clarification to those who might be ordering. Do not get the beef noodle soup if you are expecting it to be Pho. It was cheap and did its job but its definitely not what you would expect. The noodles are different and the broth tastes like it came from the same pot as the wonton soup. Also, they only give you hoisin sauce with your order. No soy, fish or sriracha. If you are just looking for beef noodle soup then it isnt bad.

I ordered marinated beef Bun and Vietnamese spring rolls. They were both very average--not as terrible as other midtown-ish Vietnamese offerings, but not good.

This place is the worst. They've messed up my order on multiple occasions. The first time I asked them to fix the messed up dish, it took 40 minutes for them to deliver the parts of the dish that were incorrect (they refused to remake the dish for me despite it being the entirely wrong dish). The second time they made a mistake on my dish, I insisted they remake the dish to be correct. Again, 40 minutes later they came with the correct dish, but insisted I return the incorrect dish to them (Not a big deal since I wouldn't eat it, but how tacky is that?).

Awful. I ordered steam shrimp and mixed vegetables which were first delivered with oil all over them (oil is not supposed to be part of this dish and I have an intolerance to it.) They replaced the order, but the second was overcooked and tasted like mold. Will not order again.

What I ordered - Spring Roles and Vietnamese BBQ Pork Bun (which comes up wonton soup). Bun is a vermicelli noodle dish with lettuce, pea sprouts, peanuts, and fish sauce. The menu clearly says, "vermicelli noodles, this is not a rice dish." What I got - A pork chop on plain white rice, no soup. The spring roles were adequate but the accompanying lettuce is not fresh. So much so that is is black around watery around the edges. Lettuce is clearly a day or two past edible. I call the restaurant to point out the error and at first the woman tries to convince me that bun is a rice dish. I am white right, so maybe she thinks I don't know my Viet cuisine or can't read the menu. Then she figures out that I know the difference and tells me it will be at least 30 minutes, and maybe I wait until next time I order and they will fix the problem. Not worth the hassle so I relent. Going forward, I am giving up on trying to find Viet cuisine in New York that resembles what is served on the West Coast.

I think they shoot the delivery boy out of a cannon. The food gets to my place in literally 5 minutes and its VERY hot. Not exactly the most gourmetfood, but it is very cheap, very fast, and very good for a local joint! We order from here at least once a week.

Beware that Chow Mein under noodles and fried rice is not noodles. It's chicken and vegetables with rice. Really? Maybe that should be noted on the menu cuz every other Chinese place and even in all of Asia, chow mien is noodles. Called restaurant and person was polite when explaining but still I ordered a noodle dish not a rice dish.
