Just waited an hour for delivery... all I wanted was minced pork with sour string beans. After searching dozens of restaurants I decided upon Joe's Shanghai, only for my food to come and have there be NO PORK. Hugh bowl of string beans, maybe 1 square inch of pork. This sucks.

Have you ever been to a fabulous Chinese restaurant where everybody knows your name?? You have if you've been to Joe's!! I cannot say enough good things about Joe's Shanghai Midtown. Soup dumplings are like a ball full of heave on a spoon.. but make sure you know how to eat them so you can enjoy them to their full potential! Rice cakes with beef is a one in a kind dish, and make sure you start with some scallion pancakes. Delivery or pickup, they are friendly and always get your order right! Everyone should eat at Joe's!

I ordered the food, estimated time of delivery was 45-60, I called right after ordering and asking if there was anything they could do to help expedite, they said that they couldn't and refused to take my name. An hour and 20 min later (I get a call saying that the food has arrived...to Lexington...our office is on Madison). I called Joe's to cancel my order. They kept me on hold for 5+ min before they agreed to cancel my order because of their mistake. Really disappointed.

This place is a joke- I never write reviews but I HAD to because their "mushu pancakes" are TORTILLAS. What kind of Chinese restaurant serves a flat out Mexican tortilla and thinks they can get away with it?!?! Also, the rice was mushy and the hot and sour soup was neither hot nor sour. The search for a decent Chinese delivery restaurant in midtown continues...

Awful experience. I ordered brown rice and they delivered white rice. Also they refused to admit it was their mistake. Be careful dealing with them.

Just ordered the crab/pork soup dumplings, turnip cakes, hot and sour soup and Szechuan style tofu. The order took 1.5hrs to get here and the soup dumplings and turnip cakes were very good. However, as a Chinese person, I thought the hot and sour soup and Szechuan style tofu (which I thought was their version of Mapo Tofu) were awful, tasteless and the worst I have ever eaten in my whole life. The hot and sour soup tasted like water with a little raw vinegar dashed in and the Szechuan style tofu tasted completely bland as if the cook did not put any salt in and it was cooked in an American style brown sauce (nothing like authentic Mapo Tofu sauce). My advice is to only order soup dumplings from this restaurant and stay away from any of the other dishes.

Singapore Noodles are really tasty! The other food is hit-or-miss; sometimes it's great (sesame chicken) and other times really oily and heavy (chicken and broccoli). However, delivery is quick and we haven't said no to trying it again.

Absolutely Perfect!!! They sent the wrong dessert initially and when I called them immediately dispatched the right thing! Great service. Will keep ordering. By the way the red dumpling dessert is amazing.
