Kodama Japanese

I've used this place twice. Both times the food has taken over an hour to arrive (I live 4 blocks away) ... and though the first time was a busy Friday the second time was a monday night so there's really no excuse. The sushi tasted like it was about to go off and the tempura was soggy and cold. There are many good Japanese restaurants in New York: this isn't one of them.

We used to really like Kodama. But now the sushi "chefs" are all Mexicans. The sushi is cut like fishing bait. That's the good stuff - the rest looks like it was torn off the fish bones by seagulls. The eel has bones like a chicken. It's very sad to see the quality of the restaurant go downhill so badly. Mr Kodama - can you please get some proper sushi chefs again? (Or maybe just start selling tacos instead ... "Senor Kodama's"?)

BEST SUSHI IN MANHATTAN!!!! Its fresh, great quality, tasty, I love everything. Been there several times and never had complains at all!

A very small amount of overfried Calamari for the price (and poor quality in general). Ordered the eel and avocado roll this time, but I've had other items on their menu before. Overall, it's my top takeout Sushi restaurant -- mostly due because of its proximity to my apartment. An average place -- nothing disastrous or superb about its food.

Always fast and fresh. Asparagus tempura sushi warm and delicious on arrival. Sashimi also yummy. Great option in Times Square area!
