La Canasta

Do not order La Canasta delivery if you need food in a rush. They typically take about an hour to deliver (about 15 min if you pick up). It's the best cheap takeout Mexican in this part of the city. Definitely recommend the food - its delicious!

Pretty average, no frills burrito served here. Once in a while I just have a craving for some cheap mexican food. There just aren't many cheap burrito joints in the Marina neighborhood, so this place fills that niche. My review is based only on the chicken burrito I've tried there.

Despite the negative reviews, I've had nothing but great experiences with both the food and delivery. This is definitely mediocre Mexican food, but you can't beat the prices and free delivery. Their tortilla soup is delicious, lots of vegetarian options, and good variety.

Waited 1h 15minutes, the business closed, no one answering the phone from us or when Seamless called. Terrible business... Based on other reviews Seamless should just kick them off the site.

The food was pretty good but the wait made it not worth it at all! They estimated the food would be here in 30-45 minutes. After about an hour I called to check on my order. Twice it rang long enough that my cell phone automatically gave up. When someone finally answered I explained that I was waiting for my order. Without asking who I was or my address a woman just said (really loudly) "5 minutes!! 5 minutes!!" and then put down the phone. Ok... My food arrived 1 hour and 45 minutes after I placed my order. Again, the food was ok, but it took so long that I won't be ordering from there again.

I've ordered from here a couple times. Decent mexican. I like getting the garden salad with chicken and salsa, the shrimp taco, and/or chicken taco.

I ordered from dinner from La Canasta yesterday. The delivery guy called me at 7pm, exactly per my instructions. But, that was the only positive highlight! I requested lettuce, tomatoes, onions guac, sour cream, etc etc on my veggie burrito. And guess what, the $10-burrito came with 8 different small salsa containers, and was extremely dry and stale. The $11 Torta turned out to be worse than a 6" subway sandwich with lettuce and tomatoes. I think La Canasta delivered the worst Mexican food in my 10 year experience relishing Mexican cusine in the Bay area. Minus 10 stars for food quality Minus 5 stars for making me walk to the BART station to pick up Zero stars for showing up on time
