Lan Sheng Restaurant

The food is pretty good if you stick with only the Sichuan style food. They actually use sichuan peppercorns! I've tried their Stir-Fried Chicken with Spicy Capsicum, Lan Sheng Chicken, Shredded Pork w/Spiced Tofu, Ma Po Tofu and Enhanced Pork dishes. The Ma Po Tofu is pretty oilly so I'd suggest asking them to make it with less oil. DO NOT order the Sweet Potato Puffy though. They were gross. The other dishes I've mentioned are worth a shot. There are a bunch more on the menu I'm going to try!

I had one of the worst meals that I have ever ordered from any restaurants from Lan Sheng. I ordered the Kung Pao and Chicken Lo Mein. The Kung Pao tasted like someone dropped some elderflower or something else horrible into the dish. The beef in the lo mein looked and tasted like it was past its prime. The lo mein had no taste. Overall, a horrible meal. I ended up throwing most of it in the trash. If you are looking for some tasty chinese delivery in midtown DO NOT order from this place. Instead I would rec Shun Lee or Szechuan Gourmet.

I ordered Braised fish with napa cabbage. It spilled a lot in the plastic bag and the taste was not great to compare with other restaurants. Not recommended.

After waiting an hour for my food, I called the restaurant to be told it was already on its way. After waiting and calling an hour after that, my food still did not come and was told again that the food was on its way! Ridiculous.

Worst service on the seamless. Delivery person complained that the order is more than 5 blocks away from their restaurant and I shouldn't have ordered from them!! Rude and obnoxious!

We saw the 5 stars and decided to order from this restaurant.....HUGE MISTAKE!!!!! Each dish was more salty than the dish before it! It was as if we were eating food straight from the ocean. The special spicy chicken dish had more red chilies than actual chicken (NOT an exaggeration)!!! We had to throw away our food and my husband had to immediately brush his teeth to get the taste out!

Terrible delivery services. Waited over 2 hours. Called multiple times, kept being told the guy had already left. My food finally did show up, but cold. The delivery guy was chuckling as he explained that he was so late. with so many options in mid-town, i'd go somewhere else.

So they forgot one of my items, instead of offering to bring it, they asked if they could give me a credit. Even though my girlfriend was saying she wanted it in the background, I agreed to a refund for the item. Then the lady says no, i will have a credit the next time I call to order, I said no way, refund it on Seamless web, she tells me to call seamless myself to do it!!! Seriously! I hadn't ordered from here in a long time, BIG MISTAKE! Who does that!!!

Update: I ordered from them today and had a terrible experience, not only was the delivery man rude and kept pounding and ringing on the doorbell a bunch of times. The soup was not very good, and the general tso's chicken was just pieces of breaded chicken drowned in sweet and sour sauce. Did not taste at all like it did before. Unfortunately it was inedible. Plus I requested chilli sauce and chopsticks and got neither. I did not have high expectations but I have to say I was surprised. It was pretty good. Not saying it was the best I have ever had, but it was not really greasy , as most general Tso's chicken is, not too much breading on the chicken either, also good quality chicken. The egg drop soup was good as well. I would order from here , if I had a craving for chinese and didn't want to go out.

AWFUL. DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE. DROWNED IN OIL AND TASTELESS. Can't imagine how much more OIL they would have put if i did not tell them to keep OIL to a minimum.... NEVER HAD SUCH A TERRIBLE FOOD in my ife. .I had to throw all of it..it came 15min after i ordered but TERRIBLE...don't believe the reviews..

Absolutely great food--my only complaint is that, unlike their paper menu which they will include with your delivery, they don't (or can't) really notate something as spicy on seamlessweb. My spice tolerance is fairly so so my food was slowly but surely killing me--but it was so delicious I was happily dying a slow death while eating it. My colleague who ordered a non-spicy dish also said it was delicious, and we got our order right in the estimated time though we're a decent distance away. I will definitely order again, though looking at the paper menu next time!

Food is AWFUL. I ordered very basic food (edamame, chicken with brocolli) and I am not a picky eater but the food was literally inedible. Order from somewhere else!
